Is there a source book that details the workings of Jergal's church or that talks about, at some length, not just a line or two, about the Companions of the Pallid Mask?

I am trying to find some backing that I can show my DM that his priests animate the dead but aren't evil.

If I am not mistaken, Netheril the Empire of magic, has a write-up for Jergal when he was still a greater evil god.

Either faith and avatars or powers and pantheons should have the most complete write- up of him as he is right now. I think it is in the later one.

I know that some priests still keep the ways of the companions of the pallid mask, but I am not sure where I read that.

You should take a look in the 2nd edition sourcebook "Powers & Pantheons". It has all the information you'll need.

Hmm, has that book been released freely, by any chance? There was a trove of earlier edition books that WotC released on their website, but I can't find it at present.

Edit: I think that group may incorporate the legendarily unheard-of paladins of Jergal. I'm serious, check the Magic of Faerun spell list.
