Hi, I'd like to draw on the collective wisdom of the message boards for a little bit. I'm a bit confused as to what's been going on the Realms lately, since I don't really read the novels. If people could answer the following questions, it would certainly be helpful, though I doubt I'll follow canon. I've always ignored canon whenever it didn't suit me (Bane took all of the cities in the Moonsea region into his own pocket plane? What!? Shandril Shessair destroyed Zhentil Keep? Huh?!).

I know Elminster went to hell, and came back. What's he up to now?

Also, what's Storm Silverhand doing at the moment? (other than forcefully feminizing Manshoon, anyway).

The upcoming novel Elminster's Daughter should answer what El has been up to after he was rescued from Hell.

The Spin a Yarn is not canon and also does it really list a date on when it took place? Doesn't really matter though since again none of those have ever been canon. Granted tough it happens some time after ToT's and after Lhaeo returned to Tethyr. :) So any time betweeen 1368 to 1372.

Not sure what she's been up to though probably defending Shadowdale.....

Oh yes, that was another question that the Spin a Yarn provoked. Who's masquerading as Lhaeo, and why doesn't Elminster see through the illusion?

Anyway, the Spin a Yarn isn't canon in my campaign, that's for sure :)

El created the illusion since Lhaeo returned to Tethyr and married Zaranda Star in 1368/1369 or so. They kept the illusion because most people don't know Lhaeo was the lost prince of Tethyr, so when he returned he took back his real name and a replacement Lhaeo took over as El's scribe and she looks like the real Lhaeo because of the illusion.

Lands of Intrigue box set details the return of Lhaeo to Tethyr.

Uh, where did you hear those bits of info? Or was that just an exaggeration to prove a point?

The Pools of novels describes Bane taking Phlan and other cities and sticking them into a cavern. I can't recall if it was a seperate dimension though. Pools of Darkness I believe it was but it's been years since I last read them.

The first happened in Pools of Darkness, as Kuje said. I was flipping through the Pools of Darkness novel in a used book store the other day. As for the second, that was hearsay from a friend.

See, I thought Bane had just grabbed Phlan... But it's been a while (10+ years) since I read those books... I didn't care for those books, and as far as I'm concerned, they didn't really happen.

And I don't recall Shandril Shessair ever going to Zhentil Keep, but I may have missed a book. The Keep was destroyed by Cyric's folly, not spellfire.

No he took more then one city, but it never says how many excatly. :)

And yes Shandril did go to Zhent Keep, in Crown of Fire, and she shattered a few towers and the like before she was rescued by Mirt, if I recall right.

My bad. I remembered that she had gone somewhere, but I couldn't remember where. I've not read that book in a while, either.

Actually, Kuje, she went to the Citadel of the Raven for her rampage of destruction. :D

You are right. I had it confused with when she first wanted to go to Zhent Keep

Page 211 of the revised Crown of Fire, "Teleport me to Zhent Keep," Shandril burst out. "I.... I.... have to destroy the Zhentarim, now!"

No worries, Kuje. When it comes to Realmslore, you blow the rest of us away 99% of the time.

Thanks Ender. :) I needed that, it's been a bad day. Hey every one gets confused some times. :) With over 200+ D&D sourcebooks and 300+ D&D novels packed away in my brain it gets jumbled some times. :)
