| msatran02-07-08, 03:27 AM | It is with great happiness that we have some hope for once. Check out the D+D 4th edition miniatures collection. Champion of Eilistraee made it, and Storm Silverhand made it. We might NOT be screwed totally. We're still screwed, let's face it, but we might be less unhappy. |
| Kenzuki02-07-08, 07:19 AM | Um, where? |
| msatran02-07-08, 08:59 AM | Yeah, they're not winning any prizes from me regardless. Nonetheless, here's the link. http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/mi/20071121 |
| Rinonalyrna Fathomlin02-07-08, 02:36 PM | Those are quite nice looking.:) |
| Dark Wizard02-07-08, 04:48 PM | It's mildly comical that both the aspect of Bane and the aspect of Hextor made it. Since Hextor is now Bane in 4E's core pantheon, I wonder if that will matter at all. |
| Ody_Saraph_of_Karsus02-07-08, 04:57 PM | I don't think that for 4E I own a few of those figures already, and the entry on the page reads: all Desert of Desolation creatures will appear in the 4th edition D&D Monster Manual, and you'll be able to download their updated stats for the new D&D Miniatures rules in January 2008! so they aren't talking about Storm(from the Bood War expantion) or Champion of Eilistraee (from Arch Fiends Expantion) :( |
| Lord Karsus02-07-08, 07:42 PM | -I was thinking of maybe getting a few miniatures for my campaigns, to better represent people, monsters and such. I have a bunch of lead ones, from my stepfather, but those are too nice, and dangerous, to use. |
| Ody_Saraph_of_Karsus02-08-08, 08:24 AM | That's why I started buying them I'm done with cards/figure games |
| MarkusTay6302-08-08, 05:16 PM | The existance of the miniature in the 4e line has NO bearing on weather the actual NPC will still be alive in 4e FR. For example, we KNOW Obould will be dead, yet there is a figure for Obould Many Arrows. Most of those have been picked through the online polls that have been going on over the last couple of months - think of them more as 'All Stars' from previous sets. Don't read into it. :( |
| Lord Karsus02-09-08, 12:16 AM | That's why I started buying them I'm done with cards/figure games -Can I buy them individually, do you know? I mean, I don't use a lot of things in my game, so having a...'Abyssal Warforged', or something like that isn't going to help me. |
| Bluenose02-09-08, 08:57 AM | -Can I buy them individually, do you know? This forum (http://forums.gleemax.com/forumdisplay.php?f=437) has some miniatures trading on it. There are other places, but that's a sensible starting point. |
| Ody_Saraph_of_Karsus02-09-08, 09:07 AM | Well, I used to buy Mage Knights on Ebay but they were expensive (High Elf General for $30.00!) I think it will be the same or D&DM so.... |

| Gallameed02-09-08, 09:26 AM | Reaper Miniatures is (or have recently) launched a range of plastic pre-painted fantasy miniature that aren't random and are painted better than WotC's. ;) Fairy inexpensive for what you get. I was thinking of getting a bunch of generic monsters, orcs and gnolls if thats doable. |
| Lord Karsus02-09-08, 09:38 AM | I was thinking of getting a bunch of generic monsters, orcs and gnolls if thats doable. -Yeah, that's what I was thinking of doing, too. A handful of 'PC Type' miniatures that my players can pick from, and then a couple of stereotypical monsters that I'll use. |

I have a bunch of lead ones, from my stepfather, but those are too nice, and dangerous, to use. But they taste better than the plastic ones. Mmmmmm, brain damage...... |

| Rinonalyrna Fathomlin02-10-08, 08:29 PM | The 4E miniatures are going to be made out of SOLID LEAD and colored with LEAD PAINT! |
| Lord Karsus02-10-08, 08:44 PM | The 4E miniatures are going to be made out of SOLID LEAD and colored with LEAD PAINT! -If stupid people put them in their mouths, would they get smarter? Two negatives equal a positive in this case? |
| msatran02-10-08, 08:48 PM | I would like to point out that given the cost of a D+D rare plastic mini, what motivation do I have not to go to a professional miniatures painter, pay the same amount of money, and get my PC painted up for that price? |

| msatran02-10-08, 11:49 PM | Yeah. But it's still better to get one of the pewter jobs primed, cleaned, painted, and sealed. |
| MarkusTay6302-11-08, 12:15 AM | I would like to point out that given the cost of a D+D rare plastic mini, what motivation do I have not to go to a professional miniatures painter, pay the same amount of money, and get my PC painted up for that price? You rang? ;) I'm better then average, but some of the guys from the last forum I was a regular at - Coolminiornot.com (http://www.coolminiornot.com/84440) - have god-like talent. I was fortunate enough to have a few of minis become part of the Tsunami relief fund (http://www.coolminiornot.com/96367) (a WH Ogre Army), the full set of which sold for somewhere between 5-6000 dollars on E-Bay. |
| Reneshat02-11-08, 12:16 AM | Really, if you put some effort behind it, you can normally find a miniature really close if not exactly like what you want. Reaper's non painted miniatures really are great. However, there are ton's of other little companies out there that also do miniatures so your options are almost limitless. Which reminds me, I need to pick of a Sandor Clegane miniature. I don't have a character to use it for yet, but that is a miniature it's worth making a character for. |
| Lord Karsus02-11-08, 12:42 AM | -I'm going to ask my players, and a few other people in the campaign I play in if they want to chip in, so I can get more money, and I'll share 'em. |
