Today I was at a yard sale and found a lot of old D&D books most of witch where for the realms.
I got the following books for $2 each!

Waterdeep and the north, Moonshae, Empires of the sands, The Magister, The Savage Frontier, Dreams of the Red Wizards, Hall of Heroes, Citys of Mystery, The Bloodstone Lands, Old Empires, Dwarves Deep, Horde Campaign, Anauroch, The great Glacier, Gold and Glory, The Shining South, Waterdeep, The Drow of the underdark, city of waterdeep, Volo’s guide to all things magical, Volo’s guide to the north, the seven sisters, Sea of Fallen Stars, Faiths and Pantheons, and Unapproachable east

I also have the monster manul from forgotten realms. ( don’t remember what its called right now.)
I will be starting a game in the realms as sone as I get the forgotten realms campaign setting ( you would think they would have had it there).
I’m not new to D&D but I am new to the realms so I decided I may start with a published adventure. What adventure series would be good to start off with (preferably starting at 1'st Lv) .
Also what other books should I look into getting.

If I'm not totally off, most of those books are 2nd ed. But they're great referrence material. As for published adventures, you won't find any but those small ones in for example the FRCS and Silver Marches books (and the likes), unless you convert a 2nd edition one. It's pretty simple to make up your own adventure in the realms, but I suggest you start up one in the Dalelands or the North.

Yes most of them are 2'nd but I don’t mind converting things over. So converting the adventures wouldn’t be a problem.
if I create my own I’ll probably start in waterdeep. (I do have 3 books on it) but I still haven’t been able to look at most of the stuff in the books.
As for the north I think I’ll download that north set wizards has on the download page and give it a look.

Any other help would be appreciated.

Under Illefarn (sp?) was the first DnD module and is very popular, still. There is the Sword of the Dalelands module series that takes place in DAggerdale. That could be a first good module. If you don't mind a lot of work, I would strongly recommend the Ruins of Adventure module. It takes place in the rebuilding of Phlan, on the Moonsea. It's kind of set by itself and you can have a lot of fun with it. It introduces some strong elements of FR, like the Black Network. It has a good story and takes the players from a lower level to a higher one.

If you want a game that is close to Waterdeep, yet has a good starting adventure that just needs some converting, N5 Under Illefarn is a great starter then. It starts off in Daggerford. And I have seen it in pdf formats too.

Not sure if you'll be able to find it hardcopy though as it is a 1E adventure for levels 0-3.

But can very easily be made to go higher, especially if you convert a several of the "short" adventures that are downloadable on the wizards site to the area, several can be done so with little to no effort.

Both rpgnow.com and svgames.com have it in pdf format.

Lashan, thanks for reminding about that adventure, I was wanting a short adventure that had a forgotten dwarven stronghold in it that I could steal parts for my underdark drow game.

Since you're looking at the FR completely fresh, I would strongly recommend keeping a notebook handy. Whenever you come across something that looks like a plot hook or module setting, make a note of it. Doesn't have to be a lot of information--just saying "Brad the Great's Ring of Whatever was never found--Anauroch p. 24"

Once you've worked your way through all the books, read through all the plot hooks and see if there's a common thread to be followed. Even if you're running published modules, you can substitute the minor plot points of the modules with plot points from the FR setting, replace an innocuous +1 whatever with a famous +1 (give those bards something to do!).
