johniemi 02-16-04, 06:27 PM	I just decided to make up an event calendar of significant events for my Faerun campaing. I already made up a 4 week summer fair at Waterdeep and put Week of Boccob to be celebrated in the last week of the year and also I wrote that a merchant caravan is going to arrive in Luskan at a specific week etc etc. So what I now need is some ideas that I can throw in the calendar. Unfortunately I don't even know the main gods of the Realm, could someone give me the 4-6 largest deities so I can make something up for them as well. Also please give me some fresh ideas for my calendar. The events don't have to be logical, so if the calendar says that a caravan is in Luskan on the 1st week of March, it doesn't have to pinpoint the caravan's location two weeks after that. In other words; This calendar would have some specific events that the PC's would know either by chance, rumors, or thru normal knowledge of their home world So please, throw some ideas at me. "Small arena tournament at Bryan Sanders"... "Vermin day at Luskan" (beginning adventurers are hired to wipe out the vermin population in the sewers)... etc etc. The more I have stuff in the calendar, the better. I want the players to really feel that they can choose where to go, and that the world is full of exploring. Thanks! -John
ender 02-19-04, 04:58 AM	Its difficult to give you any short list of the "most important" deities. There are dozens of them, and which ones are more prominent depends entirely on where you are. Going by the FRCS, three that are big in Waterdeep are Deneir, Mystra, and Oghma (p. 178). Nearer to Luskan, in the Sword Coast North, the listed religions are "Nearly all." As for holidays, Chessentan festivals can be found here: http://www.geocities.com/TimesSquare/Castle/2566/cfestivals.htm If you comb through the pages of Faiths and Pantheons you can find lots of religious holidays.
