Mind you, this is 2E material, but it will still give you a great idea of the land: Maztica: http://www.wizards.com/dnd/files/tsr1066.zip Fires of Zatal: http://www.wizards.com/dnd/files/tsr9333.zip Endless Armies: http://www.wizards.com/dnd/files/tsr9340.zip City of Gold: http://www.wizards.com/dnd/files/tsr9349.zip |

| Herr Doktor09-15-03, 12:33 AM | A monk PC in a solo-campaign of mine will soon be leaving Athkatla for the True World of Maztica. Thank you for drawing out all this info Technomancer! I am probably going to be converting the Fires of Zatal soon (as long as there is nothing too unworkable for the current campaign). My question is... has Maztica experienced any relevant change in the past decade or so? If so... what sort of change? |

My question is... has Maztica experienced any relevant change in the past decade or so? If so... what sort of change? Your best bet for that is the updates from the Lands of Intrigue box set. I think it's in the Amn sourcebook from that box set that updated Maztica with new info. Other then that, that was the last we heard of Maztica in the sourcebooks. |
| wanderingminstrelnasheen09-15-03, 05:29 PM | I once played a game that eventually went to Maztica, and almost all our info. came from the Lands of Intrigue books, and the Internet. It was cool. Lots of fun colonial themes running around there, encounters with wild elves and all sorts of dire animals (bears, elk, etc.) At the time my DM was doing a "Dawn of a new era" thing, so we had some early (post-arquebus) guns, which was cool, b/c even though we had them it was always like, "ok, we could use them now, but we don't have much powder and who knows when the next shipment will come from Athkatla, plus the noise might attract even MORE unwanted company..." etc. Real cool, especially b/c in the end we only used the guns a handful of times, which made them all the more impressive when we did. Also it was a low magic game, Maztica (I'm not sure if this is for real or just DM invention) is full of dead and wild magic zones, so when a spell was cast it was pretty awesome, but it didn't happen all that often. |
| Technomancer09-15-03, 09:08 PM | Awesome, i was hoping that this would spark some interest since i have been haunting this board for some time and this is the first i've seen on a thread on Maztica. I like hearing about other adventures similar to ones im creating as a way to get new ideas. I took a look at the Maztica box set and i think i will do something with the continent all my own, since the PC's need to go there to scout out trade and find a powerful artifact and return it to Waterdeep. I was gonna do something along the lines of Aztec crossed with Pacific Islanders for the natives there. What do you guys think? -Tech |

There isn't much info about most of that continent, so you could flush it out as much as you like. |
