Pazio are now showing that the 5 issues of Dungeon magazine that featured the Mere of Dead men FR series are now back in stock. So if you missed out the first time nows your chance to get them!

Note: The 5 modules are set in the large swamp called the Mere of Dead Men which is north of Waterdeep. One of the modules (The Eye of Mykrul) hints at a way for a certain dead god to return) :D

The modules are in 2ed format but can be converted

The issues are 69-73

Might I just add that while there is some variance in quality ("Ssssscaly Thingsss" struck me as rather weak, for example), the series is, on the whole, a very nice framework for either a quick and dirty campaign, or the bare bones for a long-term effort to "clean up" the Mere....

Which issue specifically has the eye of myrkul in it? Curious because I have a fanatical clergyman character of Myrkul. (Getting up there in age and levels) who has been hunting the crown (Which has been evading him since he doesn't want to return. =/). I'd like to take a look at it.

Also; doesn't that sound a bit Vecna-ish? Eye of Myrkul? As opposed to Hand and Eye of Vecna? Just wondering if anyone else thinks so.

yeah, but Vecna was cool, and in this case Velsharoon is a total rip off

Is there a quick link that can be posted to these adventures?

The only one of these that's worth getting for Realmslore is Eric Boyd's "Eye of Myrkul" in #73. (Also get his "Sleep of Ages", not part of this series, in #69.) Eric has a trio of Waterdeep-set adventures coming up in Dungeon, by the way.

ClobberinTime, it really is not on for you to make accusations of plagiarism like that. Looking at the original Vecna reference in the DMG (based on an idea of Brian Blume's), and the various 1990s Vecna stuff, and then at the original Velsharoon reference in Polyhedron #55 and FA1, and the writeup in Powers & Pantheons, all they have in common is they're both mages concerned with undeath and immortality.

Is it possible to plagerize oneself??? I didn't know it was possible, but I will be more careful....

Its in Issue 73

and the Eye of Mykrul isnt a body part (ie its nothing like Vecna)

If paizo has the rights to all these adventures, they should really try to pack them into one "book" and try to sell em as long adventure. (Perhaps update them to 3.5 and put in some new art or sidebar stuff..)

I think this would sell like hot bums in dry grass. And it would be cheep for paizo, allready with prewritten adventures, a printing press that prints up several magazins..

I have to second those recommendations. These issues are both getting for some fantastic Realmslore.

One of my main NPCs, a Zhentarim cleric named Tarl Hornsong, draws some of his background from the Realmslore given in #73 (the Hornsong family is mentioned and their coat of arms is described).

I'd have to go back and look at the description of the coat of arms, but you might compare it to House Roaringhorn of Waterdeep. I think I had the idea that the Roaringhorns might have long-forgotten ties to House Hornsong. Might be an idea to play with for your character.
