Unless I am very much mistaken, there is missing table that should be on or around page 108. It would give the level progression info for the Court Herald PrC. They even skipped it in the table numerology. There is a table 6.2 and a 6.3, but no 6.1. Anyone else notice this?

You mean I am not the omniscient demigod of lore?

Any clue what the BAB and save progressions are?

The general assumption is that it's the same as the lorekeeper.

problem is the class seems to be 11th or 12th level

And you can't extend the lorekeeper table to 12th level? It uses the wizard BAB and saves so you can just look at those.

Now it may be poor design to have a 12 level PrC (cause I think there's suppose to be a cap at 10) but that doesn't mean you can't just use it as a 12 level class.

The newest True Necromancer PrC from Libris Mortis is 14 levels. :)

I've noticed a slightly increasing trend in FR PrCs for non-standard PrC progressions (5 or 10 levels). The 7-level Triadic Knight, now the 12-level Court Herald. Maybe the authors like mixing things up on us. :D Or this is a new design philosophy they're pursuing.

They have had differently numbered prestige classes since Unapproachable East even. 7 level seems to be the common deviation, yet I have seen the 6 level prestige classes as well. Oriental Adventures had a 13 level prestige class, the Void Disciple, which is reprinted in the Complete Divine. Furthermore there are the prestige versions of Bard, Paladin and Ranger in Unearthed Arcana that are 16 level classes I believe. Maybe 14.

I suppose there are different ways to look at the different classes. 3 level classes such as Racial Paragons, Wayfarer Guide, various weapon category based ones, Wonderworker ect are bumps. A tiny bit of focus in a broad aspect of the game to provie a bit more versatility. 5 level classes are common specialized forms of training that see broad use among many or are very specific yet altogether minor paths of techniques that is limited to a few but doesn't dominate the character concept. FR seems to be the master of these. The 6 and 7 level classes always seem to be extremely specific and deviate from the standard froms of progression. They tend to do things such as be easiest to pick up from a cleric but focus on martial ability. Such classes seem to be focused on altering the character function/concept without dominating the character nor changing the IC presentation of the character. 10 level prestige classes are what we are most used to. They are the character concepts. They tend to specialize in an aspect of the game to make you more powerful overall or blend to concepts together to give high versatility. They tend to imply an organizational allegiance or mentor training (Divine inspiration counts as a mentor in my opinion). Classes requiring more levels are concepts that completely dominate the character. The builds to achieve them are the bumps into trully becoming your character. They seem very specialized yet still qutie versatile.

Anyone know of any official word from WotC about an errata or correction?

I'd like an official word as well, since the stuff is bound to be laying around somewhere, and I need it to create a herald for next time! (Though of course, if that isn't feasible, I'll just have to use the Loremaster prestige class as template, as was suggested here).
