| Zanan09-06-03, 08:00 AM | Vendui! Well, the problem is that he's dead and the exact portfolio you are talking about has been taken up by Lolth. And she does like to corrupt Elves even more than him, not to speak of fey'ri. |

The bit in DhD about Lolth taking Moanders portfolios and her becoming the God of Assassins doesnt seem to have been carried over to 3ed. If the Daemonfey do venerate Moander then Moander now has a way back as he now has living worshipers |
| Zanan09-06-03, 08:20 AM | Maybe so. Yet, IMHO still too many obstacles (Ao and all that) to revive him. |

| Plectrum09-06-03, 10:54 AM | I thought Moander couldnt come back coz finder destroyed his true body in the abyss. as for other "DEAD" Gods have any of them actually had there real essence destroyed or just stopped being worshiped and therefore stop being able to exert influence over Toril. eg if mystryl started to be worshipped again by the shade enclave would she be coming back? Or has jergal increased in power scince shade returned considering he used to be the god of the dead of the Netherese. |
| FineasBoggs09-06-03, 01:05 PM | I think killed means dead. Not worshipped anymore would mean that his power was insignificant. Since Ao decreed that a God's power would derive from his followers, it makes sense that if it were just a matter of not being worshipped anymore, then he could come back. But since Finder killed him, I don't think that any amount of clapping will bring him back from where he is. http://webpages.charter.net/acamphuysen/manshoon_mage_sigil.gif |
| Dargoth09-06-03, 07:46 PM | Moanders stone corpse still exists on the Astral plane in the graveyard of the gods so he could still be raised |
| Baron Phylos09-06-03, 08:20 PM | Doesn't Race of Faerun said that the Fey'ri of house Dlardrageth.(i.e. pretty much all the Fey'ri in Faerun) worship Ghaunadaur ever since he appeared to them? Alot of his Dogma goes with what the Fey'ri do. |

Alot of his Dogma goes with what the Fey'ri do. Yep, so detailed on page 120. The "rebels" of the House worship Fenmarel Mestarine although the few who do, must worship him in secret. Shevarah is even said to have some "small appeal" to the fey'ri. But, Shevarash being well, Shevarash, he is ignoring them. |
| Dargoth09-06-03, 09:48 PM | Ghaunders an odd choice Whilethe Rebels/Outcast portfolio (Although I think its suppose to apply to outcast drow) might be appriate the Oozes,Slimes,Jellies and Ropers arent. By the way Ghaunder are only got involved with the Fey'ri a century ago, he hasnt been involved with them the entire time. Moander was the god of Rotting death, decay and Corruption, the last 2 in particular are features of the Fey'ri race and House Daemonfey. From F&A "Over a thousand years ago during the time of Myth Drannor, the Dark bringersole remaining major temple in the realms was a huge complex on the site of present day Yulash, whose inhabitants were a continual meance to the forest people. The elves eventually burned the complex to the ground..." From Lords of Darkness: "The origional Daemonfey were members of House Dlargrageth pround but but politicallyambitious famiulys of Sun elves who dwelled nearly 6000 years agoin the area that would one day become Cormanthor..." Both Moander and House Daemonfey came from the same area around the same time, and its stated that Moander use to prey on the elves. I think its reasonable to believe that Moander had a hand (Pardon the Pun) in corrupting the Sun elves into breeding with demons As for Moander being dead "If any former power is truely utterly destroyed, it is Darkbringer. However an infitesmal fraction of his essense does remain on the astral plane, so theoritically it could be revived, given sufficient worship and could return to haunt the realms or another world again" |
