Moon Sea questions and adventure ideas [Archive] - Wizards Community

09-08-05, 08:46 PM I've recently started DMing and I would like to do a relatively short adventure campaign in the area surround the Moon Sea. I was wondering where a good place to start a 1st level adventure party with 5 players in it, and would like to know where I can find some good source material (besides the FR campaign setting and the Year of Rogue Dragons books).

Plus I would like some suggestions on what to do with a campaign during about that time , though I have some good ideas I'm currently warring with myself over 3 main campaign ideas:

1. Whle traveling from thier current residence in the town of Phlan, they are waylaid by a group of Zhentish highway-men looking for an easy group of victims ( about 3 1st lvl warriors and a 2nd level leader)

2. Hired by a noble to guard a caravan bound for Elventree, when they come upon a tattered band of orcs that have been breifly ravaged by a dragon. The orcs are a scouting party consisting of about 2 groups of 8 orcs (1st lvl warriors) each. The PC's must decide how to protect the caravan from thier attack, the caravan has 4 guards (2nd lvl warriors) and a 3rd lvl expert.

3. Due to recent rebuilding efforts in Phlan, a strange cavern has been found and a noble believes it may contian something relevant to his/her family, whoe's ancestrial house used to be locate din this region...thus begins the generic dungeon crawl :fight!:

So what do you guys think?

09-09-05, 02:45 PM Anyone of them could really work...maybe try tying all three together somehow....say the noble family also owns/is traveling with the caravan...and as a reward for helping stave off the orc attack they offer them the job of searching for the cavern.

Then have the Zhents jump them when they begin the hunt for the cavern in Phlan, etc.
