Mulhorand/Unther Info? [Archive] - Wizards Community

Lost Empires Of Faerun is also good for history, while Powers & Pantheons details the gods there.

I've managed to get those now, But I noticed a problem - in "Old Empires" it states that in Mulhorand wizardry is an honorable profession, but in "Wizards & Rogues of the Realms" it states that Mulhorandi wizards are persecuted & forced to deal with the black market?:confused:
Also, with a major war going on from 1372 onwards, it would seem to be ripe for a regional sourcebook or module to cover the war & its aftermath (after all, this may well alter the status quo in the region).:plotting:

09-25-06, 07:29 AM Some of the stuff in Wizards & Rogues and Warriors & Priests seems a little suspect, not quite lining up with information elsewhere. Some are surely mixed up.

I like the idea of the criminal mages of Mulhorand in Wizards & Rogues, but yes, it doesn't match up with everything else. I suspect that this info ought to apply specifically to adventuring mages, adventuring being a despicable occupation in Mulhorand.

By the way, does anyone know of any good books I could get to help me with this campaign? I know Mulhorand is based on ancient Eygpt, but I can't seem to find any novels set in ancient Eygpt (nor any good reference books - only 1 childs book so far!)

09-29-06, 09:57 AM The mummy movies (original, and new) can help some as far as determining some of the creature types, interactions, habits, ect. Discovery channel has had quite a few interesting documentaries on egypt as well. I am sure there will be some info on thier website. Other than that I am at a loss. Hope this helps some.

09-29-06, 10:48 AM One suggestion: Watch Young Sherlock Holmes. That movie would serve as a great "intro to Mulhorand" adventure. You could run it almost exactly as is as an adventure in a "western city" and then have the PCs head east to Unther/Mulhorand.
