| Renvale99906-13-07, 05:45 PM | I did this on the old D&D boards and I decided to do them here and add some realms flavor to them...feel free to add to them after me, some are realms specific, some are not. 1. If the Red Wizard of Thay is in range, so are you. 2. If you can see the drow in the underdark, they can see you. 3. Incoming arrows have the right of way. 4. Friendly fire isn't. 5. The only thing more accurate then incoming fire from enemies is incoming fire from friendlies, especially if you're a follower of Bane. 6. Do not draw fire, it irriates those around you(this happens alot when fighting elves) 7. The easy way is always trapped by Kobolds 8. Followers of Cyric always attack on two occasions, When you're ready for them, and when you're not ready for them. 9. Always travel with other adventurers, it gives the enemy someone else to attack besides you. 10. If your attack against the drow of Menzoberrazan is going well, it means you walked into an ambush. 11. After the spell is cast, Mister Delayed Blast Fireball is no longer out friend 12. When in doubt, kill the wizard. 13. NEVER VOLUNTEER FOR ANYTHING!!! 14. A bleeding wound from a Sword of Wounding is nature's way telling you to slow down. 15. No battle plan lasts past the first sword swing 16. Body Count Math: Two Shadow Thieves plus 2 potions of of improved invisibilty equals dead adventuring party. 17. Never go into an ancient Netherese ruin with someone braver than you 18. If you can't remember, Shades live on a floating city and you are well within fireball range on the ground. 19. Fireball is an equal opportunity spell 20. If at first you don't succeed, call Eliminster and hope he's not busy. Hope you guys liked them, feel free to add more. |

Body Count Math: Two Shadow Thieves plus 2 potions of of improved invisibilty equals dead adventuring party. A Murphy's Law would be: If you decided to rob a house, a Shadow Thief has already been there. A Murphy's law has the "someone/thing beat you to it" feel to it, things you listed are more like observations/guidlines. |

| captaincarot06-14-07, 08:11 AM | they are more of a sage advice than a murphys law. so to continue the theme of sage adviceand a few do's and don'ts. a very effective red dragon detector is a 2 foot stick with a fork in the end. when the tip catches fire you've found your dragon. always be the fastest runner in your party. halfings make excellent impromptu shields for very strong fighters should yours become sundered. don't slag off the gods while standing on the top of a mountain in a thunderstorm. always send in the halfling first. despite appearances owlbears are not really that cuddly. when disarming a trap never presss the red button. flapping your arms wildly when falling off high walls rarely works as an impromptu fly spell. don't fly broomsticks down dungeon corridoors unless you are really good at riding broomsticks. a halfling is a handy weapon to a troll. never trust a gnome who is holding a bottle and grinning. if you have to get captured make sure it is by an evil person. they always gloat before they kill you. which gives you plenty of time to escape. never get captured by a paladin they tend to be rather quick at dispensing justice in the form of a whack round the head with a great sword. when a giant throws a stone at you don't try to head it back, they've never heard of soccer. shouting your mother was an orcs w**** is usually a bad way to introduce yourself to a band of giants. never climb or descend really badly frayed ropes. red dragons really do like barbequeued food. if you look in a mirror and you can't see your reflection, either the mirror is broke or you're going to be having a few late nights. the night before clearing out a nest of vampires take a bath in garlic juice. dragons with toothache make bad pets. don't try telling barbarians jokes while you're fighting them it only makes them angry. if something nice and quite unexpected happens to you while youre in a dungeon corridoor, it means that something really really nasty is just round the corner. never steal teddybears from demon children. contrary to common folklore, the best things in life are not your enemies blood on your blade, the burning of his house and the sound of the lamentation of their women. they are soft toilet paper and good dentistry. |
