| Draka04-11-06, 02:24 AM | I need to make my DM stop playing Grayhawk :nonono: and imbrace Forgotten Realms :cheer: . So.... Is there any good prewritten adventures? Fan written? Hopefully from a erea whit alot of background stuff likeWaterdeep. |
| BrianCritchley04-11-06, 02:34 AM | well what's he play greyhawk for? seriously, what features does he look for in a game? it may be that he finds the vast amount of info on the realms intimidating. |
| Kid SixXx04-11-06, 07:51 AM | I need to make my DM stop playing Grayhawk :nonono: and imbrace Forgotten Realms :cheer: Or perhaps you should embrace the RPG Gamer Classifieds (http://boards1.wizards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=347) and find a new DM that uses the FR. You'd be surprised how fast you'll find a game. Or perhaps you should DM an FR campaign and your DM should play? |
| Thelandrach04-11-06, 11:56 AM | Well, you've got a little problem. WOTC has been holding onto the license for FR stuff, so there haven't been many big modules written for FR by third-party vendors. There are some in Dungeon Magazine, but you said you were looking for some with background material, so that's not so helpful. There's City of the Spider Queen, which is a huge module with not a lot of support material in it. There's Sons of Gruumsh, which is a module set in one of the main historically-important areas of the world, but that area isn't due to be detailed until Mysteries of the Moonsea comes out in a couple months... which is when your luck takes a turn for the better. It's going to be an entire campaign's worth of modules (over 30, most of them probably small, one-night adventures), along with enough campaign material to flesh out a campaign. You'll probably still want to pick up a copy of the Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting, maybe the Player's Guide to the Forgotten Realms, but just to get him started, you shouldn't need a whole lot more than that. There is, however, a whole lot more than that, if somebody at the table has deep enough pockets... |
| Ripe04-11-06, 12:07 PM | Well there are a lots of old 2nd edition Adventures writen for FR that could be found ready for download here (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/dnd/downloads) on WotC page. Sure, they'll have to be adapted to 3E/3.5 rules but... |
| staples7804-12-06, 08:30 AM | You might want to look at buying your DM the Silver Marches accessory. It provides a fair amount of information about the region northeast of Waterdeep and it includes a few short adventures. Ask your DM to try out these short adventures as a once off thing and who knows he might develop a taste for the realms and want to run a campaign there. |
| thedm32104-13-06, 09:11 PM | Bind him, gag him, and hold a gun up to his face, and say you're going to cut the NPC he's been planning to destroy Faerun in half. I'm a DM, trust me, he'll listen. If not with the binding and gaging, but the NPC part. |

I'm a DM, trust me, he'll listen. If not with the binding and gaging, but the NPC part. except it sounds like his GM just seems to perfer playing in greyhawk. now if his DM is such a anti-FR twit he runs greyhawk games based around destroying FR I'd say he's a lost cause. |
| Draka04-15-06, 11:56 AM | One of the main problems is that we (the players) know FF. Has a lot of books, and knows most of the prewriten stuff like the ones in Silver Marches. One of my favorits areas in FF. Cormyr and Dragon Coast is the inside of my friends pocket. Thay, Aglarond, Hallrua is another players backyard. So.... So the guy we alow to be DM for the time is a little scared of FF. Because of that i hoped for something with some background stories in. And my thougts was if we promised to be good players and behave.... He might embrace it and become a respectable DM... Is there any goodies in the Waterdeep book??? |
