I also do not expect anyone "on high" to actually read this idea, and am only really throwing it out there for discussion and because I think it's a decently good idea. That being said: :D A few days ago I picked up Tome of Magic from my local bookstore. Cool, I thought, a book with additional rules and spells for the magic system! They even have a whole section dedicated to my favorite, under-reviewed magic - Shadow Magic!!! I was nearly giddy with anticipation. Then I opened the book.... and was sorely disappointed. This was not the Shadow Magic I had come to love from reading the Realms books and fiction. I was fit to be tied, as the saying goes. So, I got to thinking about a new book. The Realms need a book solely devoted to the description of magic. Have two main chapters, broken down into different sections. The first details Mystra, her connection to the Weave, and all it's magic (including maybe a few more spells). The second describes Shar and her Shadow Weave. The Goddess knows that we need more shadow spells as well. Where are all the dark arrows and shadow bolts and shadow shields I read about in the Return of the Archwizards series? (A great set of books by the by.) Thus, my idea was born. Above is only the basis of the material; I did have more aesthetic ideas as well (such as writing the Weave section in black text on white paper and the Shadow Weave section with white text on black paper). What do you all think? I, personally, would pay anything to see this book in print. I'd love to get more fluff on both types of magic, along with new ideas for spells from the shadow aspect. |

| SilverWolf826410-26-06, 12:19 AM | Heh.... *embarrassed* Does Magic of Faerun have details like that about the Shadow Weave and additional shadow spells? 'Cause if so.... I think you guys greatly for letting me know about it. I thought it didn't have much about those in it.... |

| BrianCritchley10-28-06, 02:17 AM | there's not any new magic systems like in tome of magic etc. and frankly I thank god for that. I perfer simply allowing a few minor feats to slightly give a twist to amgic then memorizxing entire new systems with every new SB |
