| Kuje3109-23-05, 03:19 PM | So I've been thinking, because some posters were discussing it with me, what laborers would all of you like to see? Artists and musicians have been brought to my attention and I was pondering what other laborer NPC's people might want detailed for thier use. Edit: Stablehands, breeders, and record keepers have also been mentioned. :) |
| Thysl09-23-05, 03:45 PM | Off the top of my head a few 'good-to-have-stats-for' workers and laborers would be: Sailors, Courtesans, Tavern Workers, Apothecaries, Sages (with blank knowledge skills), Gambling House Workers, Drovers, Sewer Workers... that's all I can summon right now, GL Kujer! |

Noted and added to my list. :) |
| Phaerven09-23-05, 03:58 PM | What about lumberjacks? |
| Kuje3109-23-05, 04:02 PM | What about lumberjacks? HEHE. :) Now I got that darn monty python song stuck in my head. :D "I'm a lumberjack and I'm okay." GAH. But noted. :) |
| The ShapeLess One09-23-05, 04:06 PM | Miners, Stone cutters, Bakers(I love bakers =)), Glass blowers, alchemists of all tipes, and masonry workers. I will try to have more to come. |
| Phaerven09-23-05, 04:11 PM | I guess this thread will end with a near complete mercantile directory. :) ..Bakers(I love bakers =))... This is a good idea! |
| Kuje3109-23-05, 04:12 PM | Miners, Stone cutters, Bakers(I love bakers =)), Glass blowers, alchemists of all tipes, and masonry workers. I will try to have more to come. Noted and you supplied two that I didn't have on my master list. :) |
| Kuje3109-23-05, 04:13 PM | I guess this thread will end with a near complete mercantile directory. :) This is a good idea! I had a list started for one of my past games and most of these mentioned were on there but I thought I'd ask which laborers people wanted more then any others. :) Instead of me going eeiny meanie, I like this one. :) |
| The ShapeLess One09-23-05, 04:14 PM | Can you post the master list so that we know what you have and don't have? |
| Kuje3109-23-05, 04:22 PM | Can you post the master list so that we know what you have and don't have? Let me see if I can dig up the file again. I might only have my hard copy now since my old hard drive died. Edit: Yeah I only have my hard copy. :( I suppose I could scan these 5 pages into a file again but I was asking posters mostly which laborers they wanted more then any others instead of me just picking and choosing. |
| dragonheart09-23-05, 07:45 PM | kujie, let me put in a vote for the "smiths" not just blacksmith, silver/goldsmith, weaponsmith, swordsmith and armourer but the others - tin/whitesmiths, bronze/brass workers (and bell makers) etc. effectively they could be a seperste list all by themselves :P |
| Kuje3109-23-05, 07:51 PM | kujie, let me put in a vote for the "smiths" not just blacksmith, silver/goldsmith, weaponsmith, swordsmith and armourer but the others - tin/whitesmiths, bronze/brass workers (and bell makers) etc. effectively they could be a seperste list all by themselves :P Noted. :) And I got a smith in the next set and it might be a smith most people would ever think of including. :) |
| Kirtanus_Albacron09-23-05, 09:55 PM | Uh, tanners, pavers(like for roads) , sign-makers, wood-workers, and sculpters. |

| Karsus the Mad09-23-05, 10:07 PM | Shipwright, nanny/midwife, seamstress/tailor, cobbler, various types of engineer, architect, scribe/printer, gunsmith. |
| warlockco09-23-05, 10:09 PM | Undertakers, Morticians, Beauticians, Mimes (players need something to kill, right? ;) ), are some I can think of. |
| Dielzen09-23-05, 10:11 PM | While it's not quite a laborer thing...if you've read the last mythal series of books there was a cleric of Oghma that did research and the chars got charged for the usage/etc. I'd like to have good #s for things like that, as I usually just make it up off the top of my head....also how long it takes to do things like make a map, look up obscure lore, etc. |
| Kuje3109-23-05, 10:20 PM | Noted. :) Maybe I should have asked people to put them in order of most wanted to least wanted. :) |
| Old Sage09-24-05, 01:37 AM | Hmmm... What about tavern guards? Or hired hitmen and other assorted ruffians... |
| Jonathan Strange09-24-05, 03:47 PM | Bartenders and waitress/waiters. Alchemists. Jewelers/Monetary Exchange persons. (gold for gems and visa versa) |
| Gladi09-24-05, 04:37 PM | Be well. Are farmers and gardeners labourers? Are you going to include merchants? Plus hunters, masons, herdsmen, clothmakers, clockmakers, servants, bodyguards, parfumerists, cobblers, tailors, <various-food-and-drink>makers, carpenters, drivers, wheel- and barrel- makers, you know what? It would be better if you tried to do all you could ;). |
