| Obenchain08-06-07, 08:28 PM | My group is starting a new campaign in the Realms next week. I have introduced my character to the party with this: I am Dr. Artemis Githyanki, professor of linguistics and apothecary of the Unknowable University in Candle Keep. What's that? You never heard of the Unknowable University? Well, then that just goes to show how well named it is. In any event I hail from the Moonsea area, raised on the sweet nectur of good books and breezy summers. What? Oh Zhentil Keep you say? Well, I suppose Zhentil Keep is on the Moonsea, now that I think of it. Still, it is many miles from my home town of...uh, Homeshelm-di-than. Never heard of it? My aren't you the educated one. Afraid it's long gone now, swallowed up by the desert Anaroch. Yes, I know Anaroch isn't near the Moonsea, that was a test. Congratulations, you passed! Now, then, where was I? Oh yes, I am what you might call a classically trained wizard in the arcane arts. My spellbook? Well...uh... it is...uh, invisible of course. All the rage in wizardary these days. How do I read it? You sure do ask a lot of questions. And good on you for it. I can see we are going to get along splendidly. What? Oh the kobold. He is my friend and companion, Mr. Guffy. Oh you noticed that "Z" mark on his neck. Sharp eyes you have, but in fact it is...hmm...an "N"! N for natural... Yes, that's it, it's a birhtmark that only looks like a brand. You don't happen to speak kobold, do you? No, oh good...I mean, such a shame. If you could I am sure you would hear him say how pleased he is to travel with you. Quiet Guffy! My friends, I can see, our future adventures together are going to be full of wonderful experiences. Well met to you all. He is in fact a sorcerer from Zhentil Keep, though not at all evil and in fact glad to be away from that place. He has many skill point devoted to Bluff. |
| Eli_the_Tanner08-06-07, 09:21 PM | haha...sounds like a great character to play. I love characters who are more than they seem and have a style that comes across just from conversations with them. The dithering and rambling wizard(or seemingly so) can be a sterotype but I think the extra layer you are adding makes him a much richer character. |
