Just post your questions as individual topics to the appropriate FR Board. As there are numerous helpful and knowledgeable folks around here, I’m sure you’ll get plenty of useful responses!

I posted this on the religion link but will repost this idea here . I have for the last few years been cultivating in my own campaign the idea that cyric has corrupted many of the faithful of torm. think about it. the stirfelord servents replace a priest and whip up a frenzy that gets the followers to go on a crusade in torms name. they swear oaths that are slightly off of the norm and in the hype no one notices. soon after the crusaders swear more and more profane oaths and since cyric has stepped in to grant them diven powers they think they are still under torms path. sooner or later you will have an all out holy war not only internally in torms churh but agains the outsiders as well who reall cant be sure what side is the correct one. all in all a strife filled world that would only promote cyrics power.

ps. i only posted a limited thread to start to see if any one would respond soon so that i could make the most of my timew online so please reply again thanks

Hello brombur,

Your campaign idea sounds pretty believable and interesting to me. Have you been using it in an actual campaign for the last 5 years?

Also, what sort of feedback were you looking for? Adventure ideas? Back story ideas?

Inquiring minds want to know!

the idea began around five years ago when i introduced a tormite warrior who had a magic gauntlet stolen. the actions of the priest and his followers soon began to be questioned by my players as not quite evil but not really torm-like. the idea then snowballed from there. since then it has been an everpresent story in my campaigns wether as a direct piece of the plot or as background. The "tormites" on their crusade have taken to placing the gauntlet symbol of torm on top of a star burst pattern claiming it to be a mark of the actively faithful. I got more ideas and would love to share them. in addidition to my post feel free to email me bromur@hotmail.com. i thought i had included it in my profile but i guess not so ther it is.

as far as feedback i am always looking to swap tales of interesting characters and places that i can use or help develop. I believe that DND is at it's best when the games are used not a a dice rolling game but as a means to create great fantasy fiction.

Hello brombur,

That sounds like a pretty solid campaign backbone to me.

Have most of your campaign’s adventures been focused on this? Have you run any sidetrek adventures unrelated to the mystery around Torm?

I also agree that DnD ought to be more about story than rules (although the Dice to add a lot of suspense!)
