Need advice on Sememmon and Ashemmi [Archive] - Wizards Community

08-05-04, 08:10 PM Hello everyone. I just started playing a character who is the Son of the pair (Its a secret dont tell Fzoul). Now the idea is that he was kept secret, and was raised in Baldurs Gate, acording to the wishs of Sememmon and Ashemmi. He is a mage (and a level 5 a fairly powerful one) and has been forced to travial now that Sememmon and Ashemmi are in hiding. He knows there his parents and they have coresponded through letters in the past. Now what I need to know, is if there is any good sorce of info on Semmemmon and Ashemmi, other then whats in the FRCS, and what is in Lords of Darkness (I have looked at the web Enchment already to). Some of the older books are out of reach at this point however, as few people in my group held on to Second Edition things)

So, is there anything I should know, and where do you all think the pair is hidding now?

08-05-04, 08:24 PM You may wish to read the Novel Thornhold by Elaine Cunningham which features Ashemmi as a minor a character also your character has a Half Sister

08-06-04, 07:56 PM Out of all of the write-ups that I have read concerning Sememmon, I like the FRCS one the best. It just fits.

I know good ol' Sememmon appears in the book Shadowdale and Spell fire (and I'd assume Crown of Fire), but they're mostly short blurbs.

There's a right up about him in the Castles Boxed Set.

I know that he has a Spelljammer Helm at Darkhold (or did). I know that he is big into magical experiments (specifically on humanoids). He has connections with the drow city of Sshamath that only he knows about.

A cool quote from Drizzt Do'Urden's Guide To The Underdark that got cut for space:

"Aye, there was more to Varalla the Lich-Queen than met the eye. Whilst Darkhold's strategic position was apparent to all, no one guessed that its catacombs led down to the greatest arcane bazaar and spell-moot in all Faerun, or that Varalla was an emissary of the Conclave of Sshamath. How fortunate is it that I alone stumbled onto Varalla's enduring legacy and not Manshoon? As it will mean your death, I guess you will consider that turn of fate to be the whim of Beshaba."
