| Uratoh07-31-04, 01:53 AM | Hi! I'm trying to write a small mini adventure for my PCs in faerun. they'll be stopping here to return an NPC from sigil to his home (eiath from Eternal Boundary adventure) and I thought I could advance the plot while they're here, since my campaign's nmain villian (Shar, seeking to gain power in their home realm) lives here as it were...I've got a feew things it needs t odo but im having trouble assembling it due to my limited FR knowledge (like where top have them show up, etc). Their core world is the Warcraft world. This is what I know: I want to introduce the Shadow Elves (they look like Drow, but they're 'inverted', black hair and eyes, pale skin, basicly warcraft elves using the Shadow Weave warped em...not to mention HUGE ears) I have a Satyr priest of Shar who would likely show up here. I want someone (perhaps a message from a priest or somesuch of Selune?' telling them some more of the big picture, since theyve been pseudo clueless as till now. I think I want to involve Eiliestree, because Shar here is making elves evil, which is the exact opposite of her goals. the party will have 3 NPCs with them, an elven bard/sensate, a githyanki illithid hunter, and a polymorph any objected black dragon in human form being magically forced to help them. the former two dont really help much, more that their goals are curreently coinciding with the Party's. |

| The Forgotton Slayer08-10-04, 11:53 AM | Don't you think that the pcs will use detect aligment on the npcs and even if the dragon says "WELL I HAVE TO" do you then still think theyle believe him?????? And what do you want us to do with youre post its hard to see... 1.a.Give you tips 1.b.tell you how good youre idear is 1.c tell you how bad youre idear is 1.d You don't know youreselef I like youre idear but my pcs hate working with other npcs... my party backsteped the npcs that had a MAJOR ROLE and stole their good magic gear. They also always end to betray npcs or tricking them like using them as bait or a trap person or for personal use/charm slave! who test if there is traps. But its up to you. My partys not so crazy about npcs eny more but theyle still backstep them in the night. Also a red dragon polymorphed as a women the party used her as a slave after finding out she was evil they still have her. The dragon wasn't so old so the PCs could easily handle her. :tantrum: PS.Later i spawned the NPCs s vampires but they also died! :tantrum: |

As for the dragon, she doesnt say she helps em because she has to, she gets a severe electric jolt when she doesnt do what they tell her to. Aside from doing what they say and following them around (and attacking anyone who ticks her off (IE, attacks her/hits her with area spell)), she doesnt really do much, and swears often. Also, she really doesnt have any magical gear to make her worth killing ^_^ |
| The Forgotton Slayer08-10-04, 12:20 PM | Be careful my PCs also kill NPCs tht drain youre xp and do nothing! I don't know so much about the realms either so i can only help you with my NPC experience. |
| Mumm-Ra08-11-04, 12:02 PM | I have a planescape adventure running, and the players went to faerun on several missions. The party is evil, and the group leader, a half fiend antipaladin type was asked by a distant cousin from faerun (guess who-khaanyr Vhok the sceptred one) to aid him in stopping some good-aligned PCs seal hellgate keep (from the 2nd edition dungeon crawl:Hellgate Keep. I decided to invert the roles and have the PCs trying to stop the good aligned NPCs from entering and sealing the keep. They confronted the NPC party, killing the bladesinger and forcing the wizard to teleport away with her fighter lover, who was unconscious, while the priest plane shifted to his god's realm. Because of this, Khaanyr Vhok successfully evacuated his forces from Hellgate keep with no losses. The second adventure they did is inspired by the BoVD.They were hired by the vashar (see BoVD) to destroy a monastery of ilmater and recover a stolen evil artifact kept secret by the monks. The monastery was in the marching mountains in calimshan. They fought monsters dwelling in the mountains before reaching the monastery. In a nightly assault using stones of silence, incorporeality, and stealth, they succeded in slaying several monks before being discovered. The party's cleric used a very effective combo of devil's eye and damning darkness to slay several senior monks, until he decided to charge the abbot, expert in blind-fighting and with the vow of poverty feat. A swift retreat ensued, with the NPC teleporting away with the cleric's body. The monks, having been discovered, decide to leave the monastery with the artifact and hope to slip away and reach calimport. However, the party follows them at a distance. When the monk group encounters some ogre raiders, a battle ensues, leaving several ogres and a few monks dead. The PCs decide to attack the monks at this point, resulting in the death of the cambion leader, the abbot, and the remaining high ranking monks, thanks also to the thri-kreen monk PC (with 9 attacks a round) who is the last fighter-type to be able to do anything (he had to fight 2 golem bodyguards, which the NPC wizard couldn't touch). The low level monks scatter to safety. Later, the cambion and the cleric get true resurrected (they are guild leaders in sigil, so they have a lot of cash). The artifact is so holy that noone was allowed to touch it and it would slay unbelievers (so they were told). The cambion decided to get the cleric to cast divination. 'great power can be gained to those who have the strength to survive the Star's cool touch' (the star being the artifact). He then cast augury: 'will I do well if i touch the artifact?' the result was 'weal and woe'. He came to the conclusion that a necromantic death effect would snuff the life out of him, but if he survived, he would gain immense power. Correctly assuming that he needed a high fort save, he buffed himself with endurance, heroism, and other fort-buffs. Then he touched the star. He had to make a DC 30 fort save. He succeded and gained knowledge to become an ur-priest and gained 1 level of experience!!! he was happy :). Everyone else in the group had CRAP fort saves, and they didnt dare. So he became an ur-priest/antipaladin. He is now lvl 14 (everyone else is 13). The group is very powerful now. Another faerunian adventure im planning is to help khaanyr vhok in his assault of menzoberranzan during lloth's silence (kannyr's scoured legion and Grachtslug duergar are besieging menzo). |
