Need Info advice. please. [Archive] - Wizards Community

10-23-07, 11:13 PM Ok to start i've been mostly out of touch with the current dealings of Forgotten Realms. Last books i read were RAS's last set before Orc King. and lets just say i have tried my best to look up the things i've seen about the dead or missing gods, but with no real luck.
My question is can anyone direct me to a book or set of books that will help me get the idea of what is happening? And about the current events in Menzobrenzan.
Now to the reason i ask this question, is mostly do to a story i have been working on for quite some time, but seeing the changes being made to the FR world makes me think i need to rethink it entirely. I know i'm not the 1st person to say they are writing a story, and lets face it I'm a drow fan. But seeing how we all love the chars we have read about or played in the game, i hope you don't mock me to badly. Thanks for any help. Til our blade meet again.

10-24-07, 12:08 AM You'll want a copy of Grand History of the Realms. It was released last month and should provide you with a broad view of both historical and current events in the published Realms -- including those detailed in the novels.

10-24-07, 02:05 AM Since you are a drow fan you might want to pick up War of the Spider Queen and The Lady Penitent books as they deal directly with the drow.

I second this, putting additional emphasis on The Lady Penitent books. If you are trying to find out about Drow deities, this is a must read.
