| Lord Karsus05-26-06, 12:07 PM | -Hey, everyone. Since I like everyone here at the FR Boards the most, I am going to ask your help only. Basically, I am looking to add some more NPC characters to my homemade campaign setting. So, if anyone wants to give me their very own contributions for NPCs, just give me a little back story (about 1-3 paragraphs, if you don't mind), and a brief stat block, and I'll add 'em in. |
| Yaeri05-26-06, 03:02 PM | Any particular guidelines about levels? Do you want to use our PC's as NPC's, or are you looking for bartenders, priests, mayors, town guards, etc? |
| Pippa05-26-06, 03:06 PM | I'd like to join in. I'm a Lvl 4 Animation Film Student. You think you could use me anywhere? If you like, I could be an animated Film Student (medium-sized construct). |
| Lord Karsus05-26-06, 07:44 PM | Any particular guidelines about levels? Do you want to use our PC's as NPC's, or are you looking for bartenders, priests, mayors, town guards, etc? -I have no particular limits currently. Of course, everything needs to be lower than a total of 20 levels, since I am trying to keep a limit on the epic characters walking around. I'm basically just looking to inject some new ideas (i.e. Ideas that are not my own) into the mix, because I notice I am getting a little redundent here and there with names/histories. I want whatever you want to offer- Clerics, Rangers, Bartenders, Experts, Aristocrats, Wizards, Shugenja, Warriors, Peasants, and so on. I'd like to join in. I'm a Lvl 4 Animation Film Student. You think you could use me anywhere? If you like, I could be an animated Film Student (medium-sized construct). -Well, I didn't think I needed to say it, but everything needs to be a la D&D. Animation Film Student, sadly, is not a core class, nor is it a PrC. And, even if they were, you weren't listening to the instructions! :) I am wanting, "a little back story (about 1-3 paragraphs, if you don't mind), and a brief stat block". |
| kiesloth05-26-06, 10:41 PM | this is a very revolutionary and smart way to make a good homeland. My firstDnD character was and is, a male bard called Kiesloth Aquilem (red hair-brown eyes). His father is an agricalturer and his mother run away with an barbarian adventurer (!) when he was a young boy. He also has a sister called Eve who was an adventurer too but died defenting their homeland from an goblin attack... Hes easy going loves music and reads books about dragons all the time, obviously hates goblins and is a bit afraid to leave the town. He created a small library,is into knowledge skills, is eager to help the PC's + he plays the harp in the local tavern 3 nights a week. He has a brown horse called Zeneca and an awakened eagle as a friend and messanger. favorite colour, say red and uses the whip if in need to fight. | Yaeri05-27-06, 03:14 AM | My first (and current) character. At the moment level 8, but I'll write it up as level 5 for easier use. Yaeri Storkfeather N hermaphrodite lightfoot hin http://i21.photobucket.com/albums/b297/Yonin/Yaerisword.jpg Looks: Long black hair in a tail, except for two strands in the face. Purplish eyes (curse see bg). Pale skin. 2'9" tall. 14 kg (28lbs) Age 22. Personality: Yaeri is very introverted, mainly due to hir affliction and how it has made people treat hir. S'he's very slow to trust someone -if ever- and won't easily speak up. In a group of people s'he'll mostly listen to the others, and keep hir own opinion to hirself. Never draws attention to hirself. Always tries to stay out of the spotlights. Quite a pessimist. Background: Yaeri's mother was a ghostwise halfling slave in a remote village near the snowflake mountains. Hir father was a free hin. They met and fell in love. When the mother got pregnant, her master, a mage, was furious and cast a curse on her unborn child. "It will be an abomination!" Then he sent her away. Yaeri was born in Trademeet, where hir parents had settled. S'he seemed normal at first, until given a closer look. S'he was equally of both genders, and had a strange purplish hue in hir eyes. After years of pestering (in which hir dog got killed) s'he fled away from Trademeet and traveled from one place to another, surviving by theft, and what the wilds had to offer. S'he seemed to had found a group of thief friends in Lheshail, until one (thinking s'he was a girl) fell in love with hir. When s'he told him the truth he felt like s'he made him look like a fool and hated hir guts. Once more s'he fled. S'he's never trusted a person since. | Myssa Rei05-27-06, 09:39 AM | I have a few characters myself, of varying levels (lowest is around level 7, with the most powerful NPC weighing in at level 35)... In fact, the links to their profiles is actually listed right in my sig here in the boards. Since their profiles were made to be as generic as possible (with some exceptions), to make adaptation to other settings easier, I don't think it's a stretch to have them participate in your setting. Hmm, gimme a minute to post one of my favorites.... Rosamia Gainsborough, Neutral Good Human Female Fighter/Knight of the Scale Looks: Sporting a shock of dark-brown hair cropped short, and steel gray eyes that pierce sharply into whoever it is she is looking at, Rosamia comes off as intimidating, even to the people who know her. The fact that she rarely, if ever, smiles, and the fact that she's built like a fighting bull, doesn't help with that impression either. She's stands at around 5'7", and weighs around 134 lbs. She is 25 years old. Personality: Rosamia is blunt to a point, and doesn't have time for pleasantries. She's also incredibly sarcastic. She prefers honesty to sincerity, and action to words. Rosamia comes off as abrasive, and has no patience for people who do not share her interests, e.g. fighting and hunting dragons. She puts a lot of stock in first impressions, and when she's made up her mind about a person, it's going to take a lot of convincing to change her opinion; it's either she likes you or she doesn't. She hides a soft side though: she is especially fond of children, especially orphans. Background: Individuals who battle dragons are thought as either foolhardy or suicidal. Rosamia is neither, and can herself attest to the fact that, despite their innate intelligence and cunning, dragons can be defeated. Orphaned when a flight of red dragons attacked her hometown (can easily adapted to Shadowdale if you run a Realms setting), Rosamia swore to herself that no one else should experience the same fate. She joined the (insert random good-aligned Martial organization) to undergo training, before starting her hunt of the kin of the evil dragons that destroyed her family. Her early campaigns were not always successful, and after one particularly disastrous hunt she almost died. However, a worshipper of (insert Good-aligned faith), found her and nursed her back to health. Approving of her quest, the (good-aligned benefactor) named Carlyle Argentin instructed her on the weaknesses of the hated chromatics, and the tactics she could use that would give her an edge against them. | Pippa06-05-06, 08:12 AM | Pinkish Bluebrook Applepippa Pifflepie Blinkfish Wittywitch Nimblekiss Short: Pippa Chaotic good gnome sorceress 10 http://i60.photobucket.com/albums/h22/annemiethijs/Pippacastingaspell.jpg Looks: Pippa is stands three feet tall, wheighs about thirty-eight pounds and is still very young (only fourty-four years old). Her strawlike blonde hair is hardly kept in place by a simple circlet, and her skin is far paler than usual for her race. Moreover she has bright pink eyes, the main reason why she likes to wear red and white cloting. She has a clear and high-pitched voice - which lets people identify the prancing and skipping red-and-white dot in the distance as Pippa rightaway. Personality: Although Pippa's cheerfulness and optimism is inborn, she recently has discovered that not all the humanoid races appreciate her child-like enthousiasm. She has the feeling she is looked down upon as were she stupid, and she resents those who do not look further than the surface for it. After all, Garl teaches us that humor has a purpose. Nevertheless, Pippa is still more girl than woman and still has to learn a lot. She often uses her role as a clown to satisfy her uncurable curiosity - bringing her in trouble more than often, but occasionally granting her exclusive information as well. Last but not least, she has an unnatural fondness of precious stones, and is affraid of great fires. Background: Pippa's mother died while giving birth to her and she was raised by her grandmother instead. She used magic as a toy already at a very young age, and was a very difficult child when she was not allowed to play outside. She has a father she knows little about, but whom she loves and admires deeply - in the rare periods he was at home, he learned her the elven tongue and the rudiments of weaponsmithing. By taking her on long walks and telling her stories he roused the lust for adventuring in her, and when her granny died and she was alone, she put a note on the kitchentable and left. While (together with a band of other adventurers) tracking down a malicious devil who had found a way to take controll over various influential persons troughout Chessenta, she had visions of fire and madness scar(r)ing her profoundly: she would never come close to big fires or use a spell of the fire subtype willingly. The visions had been sent to her by a green dragon struggling against the will of the aforementioned devil: upon encountering said dragon, Pippa heard that the visions had been intended to reach the dragon's kin, hopefully a member powerfull enough to rid her of the devil's curse. Since this event, Pippa goes through an identity-crisis and would do anything to gain more insight into her bloodline and into her father's secret life. Having a dragon ancestor might explain her love for gems at any rate.
