I've begun work on a human sorcerer PC that I hope to soon be playing. He will be particularly adept with illusion and enchantment magic.

He is of pure netherese blood, his family numbers among the refugees of Anauria who dwell in the Farsea Marshes; the Marsh Drovers.

I need help coming up with a name for this PC, something Netherese (I'm not too familiar with the language, or if surnames and such are given in an older 2nd edition or earlier supplement).

For a first name I've been thinking about either Irial, or Lachlainn.

Any insight would be welcome!

I've tried to look up Netherese surnames aswell. The Netheril: Empire of Magic thing I dont think has any, I never saw any. A friend told me since most of Halruua's pop. are somewhat Netheril decendants, then many of their last names would be similar to Netherese. So maybe look at them?

I'll check out my sources on Halruaa!

The Netherese filtered down to mix with different cultures.

They mixed with the Bedine of Anauroch, so you could look at the names in that section to get an idea of their flavor.

They also fled to settle places like Everlund, Sundabar and Loudwater (and other places in the North). Thus, you could look under the Chondathan language section (since it's the regional tongue) on the names list on page 12 of the FR main book.

Halruaa is comprised of descendents of the refugees of Netheril, and they have their own section of names on page 12.

And I have a section of names on my web site that I've gathered from hither and yon, if you don't find anything that tickles your fancy (link below).

I hope you find one that suits perfectly.
