| Dardin_DelSundin01-02-05, 10:50 PM | As of recently I took over my group, for the previous DM wasnt interested in creating new material to quest on and he simply wasnt around much to RP anymore with work. However at the demand of my group we replaced him, and I decided to do it myself. That and I am the only one with the D&D books, everyone else is to cheap to buy them! Anyways one of the group members took offence claiming he had more experience and I should concede over the books to him (when playing) as the DM. When I disagreed and said I wanted my shot at it he enlisted the aid of some other players and constantly is screwing around by making a huge joke of the game. He uses his Druid/Wizard to create a plant (A plant we used in a previous adventure when we were just goofing around) we had called Elfweed (Elven form of Maraujana), now half the group is always a bunch of stoner Elves and they do little to contribute and constantly drag the game. The players insist they will stop if I relent. However they dont WANT me to quit, as none have the cash to aquire the books. Should I relent and allow this player to Take over? Or just take those whom havent caused this dissruption and go off on our own? All are good players. |
| warlockco01-03-05, 12:07 AM | I would suggest that you and those players that want to play with you as the DM, just ignore the disruptive players or just don't play with them anymore. As to the guy that wants to run a game, tell him to go buy his own books then. |
| Meta_FR_DM01-03-05, 03:42 AM | I prefer being direct with disruptive people: I tell 'em I'm the DM and what I say goes. If they want to waste my time screwin up the game then they can either (A) leave immediately or (B) apologize and start behaving. There are some people in this world that just need to suffer the consequences of their actions. Trust me when I say that if those players end up leaving, you'll have a better experience with the good people you've got left. You can even add new people to replace them. Good luck, whatever you do. Dave |
| Dardin_DelSundin01-03-05, 04:29 PM | Thanks I shall get rid of them, I tried last night to reconcile some agreement with them but they wanted only the one player to be the DM. So I told them to get their own books and take a hike. Im learning DMing sometimes can be a royal arse. |
| Draco Strang01-03-05, 10:26 PM | Yup...give them the boot man. I think you are fully justified in not playing with guys that just wanna smoke elf-pot all day and whine over who should be DM, especially when you have the books, and are willing too. |
| ClobberinTime01-04-05, 02:12 PM | Honestly I would just quit/set up a new group. Just tell them you want to run a PC (if you enjoy playing with them at all), and that so and so should be the DM and you would be more than willing to bring your character sheet and Dm's screen each week. Also give them the shaken effect while under the effects of their magic pipe, and ambush them alot if you need to. |
| Mystic_701-05-05, 12:55 AM | New to the forums and I saw your post. This is a problem I've had to deal with in the past {annoying players}. You as the d.m. should in my opinion deal with the weed directly. Have outside influences spy on them then as they are stuffing around. The {influences}, make them Wizards and necromancers of a slightly higher level then them. Make the wizards cast ilusionary terrain somewhere creepy {thay stronghold, darkhold, or Zhentkeep} around them, then have the necro's cast blight, contagion then permanency on the weed it self. That will show them. If not stick a nasty incounter on them beholders or something. :D |
| Dardin_DelSundin01-05-05, 02:52 AM | LMAO! Thanks all your ideas are great. I have ditched them but they have been asking to come back and join. I think I shal ldo that to them! AGAIN thanks! |
| Tempus66501-05-05, 03:50 AM | The thing is, you shouldn't let out-of-game grudges come into the game. That will disrupt it even more. |
| warlockco01-05-05, 07:36 AM | LMAO! Thanks all your ideas are great. I have ditched them but they have been asking to come back and join. I think I shal ldo that to them! AGAIN thanks! Let them back, but as soon as they start being disruptive again, tell them, to straighten up or get lost, and Don't let them back again. |
