SilasleCake 05-13-05, 12:35 PM	I finally got a copy of the Forgotten Realms Campaign Setting :whatsthis:, and I must say, Faerun is one cool place. :OMG!: I haven't read much but I must say this seems like one useful book. :thumbsup: With all the awesome regions and races and people. Anyway I am going to start a Forgotten Realms campaign tomorrow, and need some pointers for my first adventure. Here is what this quest is about: Not long ago, a clan of kobolds moved to the mountains to create a settlement. They didn't really want to bother anyone, but its turns out they did as the inhabitants of a certain peninsula could no longer travel, as they were afraid of the Kobolds living in the mountains. These mountains seal off the peninsula form the rest of the continent, and not only is the travel rough, but now with kobolds in the area, there is a high risk of death. The adventurers then, in some way or another, end up taking a trip to the Kobold mine to clear them out (with a bonus level full of Kobold zombies-be careful where you dump your dead! :fight!:. So what I need to know is where in Faerun this adventure should occur? I want it to be in a somewhat isolated place, such a peninsula closed off by mountains and a forest, or some island. Do you have any ideas? I was thinking of the chultan peninsula, but I know little of it. Would any experienced DM care to give me their wise knowledge?

Kuje31 05-13-05, 02:09 PM	There's the Moonshae sourcebook from 1e. Halls of the High King from 2e which is a module. Then the six Moonshae novels by Douglas Niles. Heroes and Villian's Lorebooks from 2e also has NPC's from those novels. Hall of Heroes which is 1e's version of Villian's and Heroes Lorebook does as well.

ericlboyd 05-13-05, 03:33 PM	I'd suggest the Altumbel peninsula. We already know there are kobolds living on the islands south of the Altumbel peninsula (from an old Dragon magazine), so I could imagine they inhabit the low hills (not shown) that divide the peninsula from Aglarond. --Eric
Krash 05-13-05, 11:11 PM	Yep, the kobolds are on the island of Thonn's Fist or Vosos. Nearby islands are Shamandra (ruled by a female wizard, previously a scullery maid from the Border Kingdoms and a one-time apprentice to the Simbul) and a few others. Good location. -- George Krashos
