I've just purchased the Forgotten Realms Handbook, and want to know if there's anything in particular I need to read (besides the Handbook itself) to DM a game. I have more than a month to read up if there's anything needed.

(Sorry if there's a topic like this already.)

Handbook as in The Campaign Guide, or as in the Player's guide to Faerūn?

Because you should have at least both, the latter is an update on the information in the former, with lots of other goodies besides.

I've got the Campaign Guide, and am broke because of it. Is the Players Guide an absolute neccesity?

FRCS is a 3.0 book, Player's Guide is 3.5. However, only about 10% of the FRCS is redone in PGtF. All the revisions were for crunchy (numbers/stats/feats/PrCs/etc) items, not for lore/flavor/fluff.

If you're looking for more info (beyond the FRCS), there's a recent topic that should help -- http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=831269

Thanks for the help.

Another question: I've got all 3.5 stuff. Is there a "Changes Book" like with the 3.0 to 3.5 conversions in the core set?

The Player's Guide to Faerun is the book that does conversions for 3.0 to 3.5
