| Caelis D'amakiir07-07-03, 06:25 PM | I am currently running the old AD&D box campaign, Night Below. My heroes are soon to tackle the Broken Spire keep section of the first book. Thus far this has been an extremely fun game complete with heroics and PC deaths.(this can be a very dangerous campaign) I recomend this to any DM looking to start an underdark game that doesn't deal with Drow. Zanan: I happened to read a post of yours to Rich Baker about conversions you have made to the second two books, I was wondering a few things: 1.How is your campaign progressing? 2.Have you managed to make progress with your conversion project? 3.Would you be willing to share any conversions you have completed? as my pc's near the end of the first module I have frantically began to make my own conversions, but as this is really my first attempt at converting material, it has been slow going. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance, MH. |

| Zardnaar07-11-03, 01:13 AM | I remember and ran this adventure in 2nd ed. What help do you need? Most of its not to hard to convert but be careful with the Dragon in it and the Aboleth Savant at the end. |

I'm running my PCs through Return to the Tomb of Horrors in a few weeks. That should be interesting. Editing and converting isn't hard. Coming up with skill DCs and whatnot is a simple matter. Just play it by ear. |
| Zanan07-11-03, 05:04 PM | Wasn't around for a few days ... well we are in book two now, but I have to write down all the notes I took. One really has to take a few things into perspective, especially the monsters around. My bunch of 6th "levellers" did rather well with the first trolls there, but a straight fight against a group of 7 (not to mention the 8 in the next carvern) nearly ended in disaster. Once they manage to rend one or two chaps ... But how much fine/down-tuning can be done ... we shall see. Probably, it is more a game of tactics here. I will be back a bit later for more comments. |

In 2nd ed Trolls didn't really have strength scores and game designers often went for quantity over quality. 10+ Orcs at level 1 or 30 kobolds or something stupidly random like that. |
