I am looking for stories of dice rolls so horrible, so logic defying that they will haunt your dreams forever.

I had a Sorcereress go with a group of P.C's into the stronghold of a Wizard with demon guards. Their plan was to sneak in, kill the BBEG and teleport out with "Teleport without error" scrolls. We brought 2 in case the first one didn't pass the casterlevel check.

Me: All I need is a 6 or better(d20)
dice: 2
Me: Crap! I cast the second one.
dice: 2
ME: #@#$@#%@$%@$%2 how in God's green earth is that possible?

Somehow we managed to escape but.....

In our last session.

We had a normal random encounter (the start of the plot)

3 robbers (human rouges lvl 4) attacking us in a ambush

my cleric lvl6 spots them and attacks the first, our fighter attacks the second and the wizard and sorcs handle the last. and our rouge finds his bow...!!!

now i take a few arrows getting up there.... but i finally see him and charge.....

now i have to make a 6 on a D20 to hit him....

so i make a 2....

okay his turn (we are completely ignoring the rest of robers and PC's here) he hits wih his sword. and i take damage.

now i make a power attack 3 on him.... ! i have to hit a 10 to hit.!
so i roll a 1...!!!! **** okay i roll my dice to see what happens and i roll another 1!!!!

and i roll my damage.. doing 15 damage on myself!!!! now i am left with 20 HP (66hp full)!!!! and i havent hit him once!!!!

his turn, he attacks and hits..!!!! causing 14 dam.... i am left on 6 HP...! and now its my turn...!

i have the following options:

1. pick up my sword on the ground (cause attack of opportunity)
2. Cast Cure moderate wounds, defencifly (a concentration chk 28, and i have 7 in concentration!!!!)
3. cast offensivly and cause a attack of opp.!!!

!!!!

THAT BAD LUCK!!!!

It wasn't me, but in this epic game I was running one of the wizards was trying to solo a dragon and the mage riding it. The mage on the dragon was almost out of spells so he cast a low lvl feeble mind in an attempt to get away. All the PC had to do was get a 2, as long as he didnt blunder he would save. Well he rolls a 1, so he jumps up yelling Bullsh** and demands his epic luck roll. He goes into his dice boxand sorts thru litteraly 45 some D20's till he finds his "Lucky Die" he prayed, kissed the die, prayed again, then looking toward heaven cast the die on the table. I almost fell out of my chair laughing, he got a 1 AGAIN....He lost his ability to fly and plumetted from the sky, he made a terific splat on the ground too.

Well, my group was ambushed by a pack of worgs. We ended up killing all but one of them, who downed our leader, an elven paladin. Our DM told us that if we don't take down the worg, our leader would be getting a coup de grace on the worg's turn.
Our elf archer shot at it and rolled a 1.
The human fighter charged it....and rolled a 1.
The elven sorcerer casted a ray of frost...and rolled a 1.
Finally, I charged it....and rolled a 1!
I guess the paladin was supposed to die that night....

One of my group's players rolled seven 5s in a row....and then three 2's (combat rolls all, and all too low).

Haha, I have such a tale... It involves the dice-roller that is built into AIM chat rooms (//roll-dice#-sides#).

My friend who moved away years ago had recently come back into contact with me. We used to play 2nd edition AD&D all the time back in the day, so I asked him if he'd be interested in an online game. He said he was, but it turned out that he'd never learned to play 3rd Edition.

So I helped him through character creation (made much easier thans to the SRD) and he soon had a 1st level human druid of Silvanus with an owl animal companion.

He is a druid who dwells in the Oak House of Silvanus near Quaervarr (spelling?) in the Silver Marches. He was sent to investigate a mageling of some small power who had not long ago entered the southern Moon Wood. He was to discover the magelings intent and report back.

On the way for a sort of random encounter while he ate his highsun meal I had a small monsterous spider drop out of a tree beside him and attack.

He continually missed the creature, though it's AC should've been well within his capability to strike (he has a Str bonus, though no BAB). He missed something like six rounds in a row... Meanwhile the spider rolls a natural 20 on it's first attack, but fails to confirm the crtical. The spiders next three attacks go exactly the same!

The PC was lucky though, his owl familar scored a couple good hits and the spider began to scuttle back up the tree toward its web. The PC wouldn't have it however, and was quite upset at the stinging wounds covering his ankles. He tossed his spear... And that was that. He pinned the creature against the tree and killed it (seeing as how it only had 4 hp to begin with and his owl had taken 3 from it).

And that is my "Nightmare Dice" story. It was pretty funny...

Oh, and for those of you who are curious about the mageling... It turned out he was an outcast from Luskan and the Arcane Brotherhood. He was to be executed, but his brother, a more powerful and intelligent mage, cloaked him in magics and helped him escape the City of Sails. He came to the Cold Wood with a group of kobolds, who were impressed by his meager magics, to occupy an old abandoned watchtower. He planned on forging his own small realm within the Cold Wood, and his kobold lackies were already beginning to patrol the area around the watchtower.

That mageling met his end, as did a large portion of his kobold henchmen at the young druid's hands.

The worst dice-rolling is usually when the party´s level 22 sorceress casts Disintegrate. 40d6.

I assume you rolled these numbers with a d20? It wouldn´t be bad if you used d6´s and d4´s. ;)

Anyway, once upon a time on the border between Cormyr and Sembia, the PC´s were fighting a black dragon amongst some ruins. At the beginning of this battle (which was supposed to take a while) the dragon just attacked with his breath weapon when the party´s wizard fired a Prismatic Spray at it. He rolled great: penetrated the dragon´s SR, rolled a 5 on his Spray roll.

The dragon needed only a 3 to make his save versus petrification. I rolled a 2 :( The dragon crashed into the ground and became part of the ruins.

A friend of mine had a Paladin that couldnt hit anything. Each gaming session he would be completely worthless in combat except as another target. He just could not roll worth a crap. Then once our Wizard learned Prismatic Spray, He was hit with Indigo and Violet (insanity and sent to another plane), He faild both saves. He was retired after that. He didn't want to be saved.
