| TB07-25-07, 10:16 AM | Hey everyone, I've read everything from Kemp, Salvatore, Greenwood, Brooks, Lackey, Webber, Hobb, and more... (not all FR) Anyway, I'm looking for a new series of books to pick up. Anyone have suggestions??? So far Salvatore has been my favorite, I really like his style. But I've ran out of books to read HELP!!! |

| Crust07-25-07, 04:26 PM | Richard Lee Byers is good. Try the Year of Rogue Dragons trilogy: http://www.o-love.net/realms/head_yea.html His latest novel Unclean is incredible. Thay. I'm enjoying it now. I liked Richard Baker's The Last Mythal trilogy: http://www.o-love.net/realms/head_las.html Since you have RAS under your belt, you should tackle the War of the Spider Queen series, of course: http://www.o-love.net/realms/head_war.html Outside of FR, I have to recommend Robert E. Howard's writing: http://www.rehoward.com/ Conan, Solomon Kane, Bran Mak Morn, Kull... I discovered him last fall, and I was blown clear out of my shoes. After reading DL and FR novels for 15 years (and having read Tolkien multiple times), Howard's writing is... I can't even explain it. Just pick up this six-book collection: The Coming of Conan the Cimmerian The Bloody Crown of Conan The Conquering Sword of Conan The Savage Tales of Solomon Kane Bran Mak Morn Kull, Exile of Atlantis :) |
| Diffan07-25-07, 06:37 PM | Also, while many aren't big fans of it, I am and still currently reading Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series: The Eye of the World, The Great Hunt, The Dragon Reborn, The Shadows Rising, The Fires of Heaven are what I've read so far, but an amazing read with detailed and descriptive characters and settings. Also, If your into Magic: The Gathering, the books of those series are pretty cool as well and when ever they come out with a new block, there's usually a set of books that correlate with the storyline and cards. |
| Ramenth07-27-07, 09:53 PM | The first 5 or so books of the WoT series are great. it goes down hill when only three days pass and nothing happens in 800 pages. |
| LanceReaver07-28-07, 01:39 AM | I can't read the Wheel of Time books either. Too slow. Might I suggest the DragonLance Series. Anything by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman is a good read. Start with Chronicles, then Legends. I think you'll like them. |
