Novels Chronology [Archive] - Wizards Community

08-29-06, 07:09 PM Ok, and I'm not crossing any of the boundaries here regarding discussing novels (even though I think they rock, we love you Elaine Cunningham/Ed Greenwood).

What I'm wondering is: WHERE CAN i FIND a chronology of events in the novels? Like the Harpers series (which was fun), and other events. I know that The City of Splendors is in 1371, but what about other stuff like that?

It's that my campaign/stories are influenced by various novel... moments. So yeah, there you go.

so where would I go for this?

08-29-06, 07:50 PM There are three places I can think of.

One is WotC's chronology of novels. It's been awhile since I read it, so I don't know if it's been updated recently, but it does have a large number of novels. On the other hand, the dating is minimal.

Hmm. I tried the bookmark I have, and it just takes me to the novels homepage. Maybe it's still around, but I don't have the url. Poke around in there, maybe you'll find it.

The other two places are both fan-created. The first is the Grand History of the Realms, a work of awe-inspiring detail that chronicles 35,000 years of FR history. It's been availble on the internet for a while, and now it's coming out as a commercial product next year. (Congrats Brian again!) This includes both sourcebooks and novels.

The third hasn't come out yet, but another fan is trying to put together a day-by-day listing of all events from all novels from DR 1372-1374. See this thread at Candlekeep for more info.
