Novels of Worth by Region [Archive] - Wizards Community

06-07-06, 05:44 PM I will be running the campaign outlined in the Mysteries of the Moonsea supplement but havent read any novels related to the region at all. So if ya'll know of any list them here.

And for that matter list good novels for every region of the realms so DM's and players alike can get an idea of what the region is all about.

Icewind Dale - The Icewind Dale Trilogy by R.A. Salvatore (Note: It's an example of the area, not something I particularly enjoyed reading...)

I also have a book on my shelf called "Darkwalker of Moonshae" by Douglas Niles, haven't yet read it though.

06-09-06, 06:28 PM Red Wizards (part of The Harpers series) should help sort out the Thayan mindset for you quite nicely.

evermeet island of the elves is a solid novel for info on elves.

06-13-06, 09:17 PM The Rogue worm series is based out of the Moonsea area, but obviously focuses on the Rage, not TOO much on the area. Also, I seem to recall that at least the first book in the Pool of Radiance (ironically called the same name) covers lots of the Moonsea area. The adventure Pool of Radiance, from 2nd ed, is based out of there, but all of the information in these last sources is fairly old and out of date (and 2nd ed, where twenty trolls filled a 30 x 30 room and waited ONLY to fight the party).
