Hey people I get to make a post about novels that’s …. GOOD NEWS! :ayyyy!: We have had a lot of feedback about the future of novels on the Forgotten Realms boards. Of the choices we have all had to face, almost all of you wanted the first scenario. Just to remind you what that was … 1/. Having the option to post information from novels to help out in discussions This is what the current set of rules is trying to achieve This is not the easy option. It means we have a somewhat complicated set of rules, and there is a somewhat long list of explanations to help you understand these rules. We have tried to make the rules as clear as possible, and a few people have helped us write the explanations so they are easy to understand. I have made myself available to offer advice if you are confused. It also means that we have to show “the powers that be” that the people who use this board will follow these rules, and that we are capable of keeping any “outlawed” posts about novels to a minimum. We have to show them that this community is pretty much responsible and well behaved. The really good news is that you have tried your best to follow the rules, and you have kept “outlawed” posts to a minimum. It was made abundantly clear to us on the WizO team that this community is pretty much responsible and well behaved. A round of applause for all of you … you deserve it! :bow: Hats off to you all for the support and help you’ve given to the team, and especially to me :tiphat: You’ve definitely shown the world that the FR forums is a community of intelligent people who are prepared to make a few compromises when they are needed, and a group that can accept and deal with changes. YAY!! :bounce: Some hints for those who are confused * Read the whole of Novels - Important Info - Read This!!!! (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=185204) Yes I know its long and complicated, but that’s because we wanted to give you as much freedom posting about novels as we could, while still following the decision handed down to us * Use the bit written in indigo, the section called “Clarification of these rules”. This can be used as a quick checklist to see if you are allowed to post something. I put it in a different color to make it easy to find :) Debunking a couple of myths * It was me that gave you the options to either ban novels all together, or try for the other option (the one mentioned above). Nope, it wasn’t me who decided to give you these choices … it was just the way things worked out because of the decision made by others and handed down to the WizO team, and the way FR board users responded. Sometimes life itself decides you have limited choices, and it isn’t something you can blame one single person. * People have been banned for breaking the novels rules. Nope. I’ve checked our records and nobody has been banned just for breaking the novels rules. Users only get banned for utterly outrageously offensive single posts, or for a series of violations. In some cases breaking the novels rules was the last violation in a strong of them, but it was the whole ongoing pattern of refusing to obey the rules of the site that got them banned.
