Orcs deserve their own kingdom. Genocide is an evil thing, and most other settings have an Orcish kingdom.

(There was a very long and well thought out response here, but the internet ate it) :banghead:

I would like to see it stick around for awhile. It might be an interesting bad guy for the Marches. Plus, a nice sourcebook

Obould defeated Drizzt
Um, he didn't. Read that fight scene again - the first part of it consisted of Obould swinging his sword while Drizzt dodged and smacked it with Icingdeath to nullify its fire magic. Obould never scored a hit, and all of Drizzt's were wasted on that armor. Then Drizzt stabbed him with Khazid'hea and shot him with the explosive crossbow bolt, and Obould lost his invincible armor. After that all we have is Drizzt's mention that he felt like he was fighting Entreri again, then the Priestess interferes with her earthquake magic, and thats that. Neither emerged victorious, just alive (unless you wish to say that Obould living when Drizzt came to kill him is a victory for him?).

Anyhow, I was mostly annoyed. Never have liked Orcs (might have something to do with being a Tolkien fan, since in Arda the repulsive things are corrupted Elves), never intend to use them as anything but brutish tribal creatures myself, not a fan of giving them enough brains to get a kingdom going. The sooner Obould finds a pair of scimitars in his back, the happier I'll be.

Well technically this is part of canon, so discussing it shouldn't hurt, right?

but just in case i will probably have to do something, how do i delete this topic?

In Newspeak, this is also known as Thoughtcrime.

-You were asking for opinions, and such, which are not allowed to be discussed. If you conversation drifts into the area of Realmsian speculation (which it seems that it is), then you aren't breaking the rules.

-As for how to delete the post...You can't. Only WizO's can. You can edit/erase your messages, however. To play it safe, I'd erase that little part about Salvatore, since he specifically has thin skin...

Don't worry, Coulian. When they shoot you, it's always in the back of the head, with no warning. There will be no pain.

;)

Go to Candlekeep.com, to the forums there. You can freely discuss FR novels on the FR Novels forum on that site. You'll get great responses there.

To me, Countess Sarya was always the greater threat to the FR. Somehow, IMHO, that orc realm mirrors this Eberron hobgoblin territory, which, of course, might simply be a coincidence.

-On the bottom right hand side of your original post, there will be a somewhat large brown button entitled 'EDIT'. That's how...

-FR Boards policy prohibits talking about novels the way you are.Just in case you also meant my post, my Comp #@%&ed up and thats how I lost my post, so I wasn't attacked by WotC's band of evil Gremlin Police. :D

My post was just comparing FR to the other official settings; Eberron & Mystara, and Greyhawk eventually got an Orcish kingdom too. Krynn had no Orcs, so they gave them a Minotaur kingdom (VERY cool, BTW). A monster kingdom is just evolution, you can't simply kill people because they are different looking from you and have a different lifestyle, thats just... MEDIEVAL. :D

One of my favorite characters in the Realms is General Vrakk, who has TWICE been on the side of good. He even got a medal from King Azoun, so even the enlightened kingdom of Cormyr felt there is some hope for the race. BTW, anyone know what he's done since Prince of Lies? I remember a small 2.0 write-up in one of the books, but does anyone know of a 3.0+ version or a newer appearance then the aforementioned novel?

-No, no, I was referring to the OP, where Coulian was asking our opinions on what Salvatore did.
