It says, "The original symbol of Zhentarim resembls a stylized spear head bearing a white circle a long scrawled "Z" in the Dethek alphabet." Uhmm Dethek is dwarven is it not? And none of the letters really look like "Z"... I know that the regional language in the Moonsea is Damaran which is written with Dethek, but it still doesn't explain what symbol looks like "Z" in the Dethek alphabet. |

I'm not sure the symbol is a "Z" as we understand it. Is it not the Dethek letter which takes place of our "Z" in the alphabet ? The Dethek "Z" in fact ! |
| Gelcur07-08-07, 01:27 PM | Here is a link (http://forgottenrealms.wikia.com/wiki/Dethek) to an image of the Dethek alphabet. None of the letters look like "Z" on the symbol at least to me. |
| Fillow07-08-07, 03:31 PM | oups, maybe I was not explicit enough in my explanations. I wanted to say that it's not a Z (or similar) which is in the symbol of Zhents but the letter/symbol which takes place of the Z in the denthek alphabet, something like "t" |

I then realized I recognized the symbol their shield as the Dethek letter Z. So it is in fact that letter and older images with the stylized Z were most likely translations for our Earth worlders sake. |
