| Guennarr09-17-05, 07:08 AM | Hello Eric, hello people at WotC, I just downloaded the Champions of Ruin web enhancement "Vanrakdoom" at http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/we/20050712a and am very enthusiastic about it! :-)) A great adventure! :-) Web enhancements of this size and quality really make up for the recent decrease of page count of FR products! I have one problem with the adventure, though. :-( The map on page 5 of "Vanrakdoom" is just too small. I can barely recognize the rooms, even when zooming into it. Even worse I cannot recognize the room numbers, which makes the adventure unfortunately next to useless. :-((((( So here is my question: is there a larger version of the dungeon map available at the WotC-web site? It should not be that difficult to just republish this single page of the adventure in higher resolution, is it? I am very much looking forward to your reply. Thank you very much in advance and keep up making FR the best D&D setting around! :-) Günther Cologne, Germany |

There wasn't budget to draw a new map (they weren't expecting a complete adventure) so I found one that would work in the Maps of the Week. Unfortunately, it's a bit tough to read. Try here: http://www.wizards.com/dnd/images/mapofweek/Dec_X14.jpg If that's not good enough, look for a copy of "Axe of the Dwarvish Lords" (2e). (I think that's where it's from originally.) --Eric |

Yes, the linked map worked out very finely. :-)) Now my players (and their DM) will not have to ponder which room corresponds to which encounter in your adventure... :p Btw.: Could your approach to the subject of web enhancements not be inspiration for more adventure web enhancements? I do not mind reuse of previously published maps if they are taken to such a good use... ... and I would like to see more content in WotC-products to come... but so far I did not see one official statement about the recent decrease of pages in D&D products. But that is a completely different story... Thanks again for your help! :-))) I consider it to be unique to get such excellent support by a game company. Greetings from Cologne, Germany, Guenther |
