Those are the ones I could get from my head.
Big_Mac 06-14-07, 04:41 PM	I guess I need to be a bit clearer I am looking for a Large City and a region that is not really near Waterdeep. I am still looking to keep the magic level fairly strong. Could you list some pro and cons about those areas that where list or a link is fine too.
Faraer 06-14-07, 04:50 PM	There are dozens that could work. Pros and cons depend on what you're after. Do you want the largest city in a whole region? A capital or an independent city-state? Do you want to keep to the central regions or go somewhere exotic? etc. etc.

Perhaps the most important question for you would be do you want something with gaming material available to you, or something less developed by WoTC
MarkusTay63 06-15-07, 02:53 AM	Calimport = Biggest city known, located in Calimshan. Halarahh = Most magical city, similar to Eberron's Sharn, located in Halrua. Niether one is overly developed, although there is quite a bit more on Calimport then Halarahh.

Still, they are good choices and there is solid 2e supplement for both, which you should be able to score on amazon or perhaps e-bay

Check out the Volo's guides and the 2nd edition campaign expansions. My personal favourite is the Dalelands: rural, verdant, harvest plentiful and with some of the most interesting, vastly historied and deadliest adventure locations in the Realms.

Specifically you should check out: Volo's Guide to Cormyr (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/files/2/fr_downloads/tsr9486.zip) and Volo's Guide to the Dalelands (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/files/2/fr_downloads/tsr9524.zip) These sourcebooks are truly awesome and may have everything you would need to run a campaign in one of those places.
