| Illuvator07-05-06, 01:58 PM | I have been running an FR campaign for a while now, and recently came across other source books out there (such as Secret college of Necromancy, one on herbalists etc, eldritch magic and so forth). What i was wondering was, where do these books fit in? Can you use some of the things from them in an FR campaign or are they totally separate from dnd? I'm a little confused on this one, as of now ive only ever used the dnd books and the FR stuff to run my campaign, but saw stacks of these other books in a shop recently and wondered where they fitted in... Thanks for your help |

However, if a book on drow for example has a lot of info that deals with other deities etc (and since I'm a lazy arse in conversion) I don't bother buying a book that contains some 30 or more percent of lore I cannot use right away |

I had to prohibit books from AEG and Mongoose Publishing from play in my game due to unbalancing mechanics (especially Quintessential Fighter 2!). I would recommend looking through the source with an open mind, but an eye for abuse. Also look to see if it adds or changes too much from what you feel is canon. But definately feel free to add anything to your campaign that you feel fits, it's your game. |
