Other Underdark sources? [Archive] - Wizards Community

10-31-03, 02:21 PM I just bought the Underdark hardback and am quite pleased with it so far. While reading I've become interested in all things underdark. What other sources are out there for 3.0+ edition having to do with the underdark.

I have City of the Spider Queen and plan to use that as the focus of my campaign soon. I've also read on these boards that Dragon #267 has something on Dunspeirrin (whatever that is). I'll dig that up as soon as I get home. What else? 3rd party products are also fair game. Help me out.

There's the Underdark Adventure Guide (Goodman Games), not sure how good it is. If all you're looking for is details (i.e., 'fluff), go purchase Drizzt's Guide to the Underdark (a downloadable PDF). The Night Below mega-adventure, while 2E, also has some useful bits. (Man, I wish it was 3'ed). Also, Polyhedron #140 has the original article on Llurth Drierir which I find to be better than the entry for it within the Underdark book itself.

11-03-03, 03:25 PM Mongoose Publishing has a book out on the drow, Quinesttienial (Yes I butched that word, sorry I can't spell that.) Drow, and there is also a sourcebook by them that ties into it. It is a sourcebook about a drow city......

11-03-03, 03:40 PM Monte Cook wrote a nice d20 adventure called "Queen of Lies" (I think) for Fiery Dragon Productions (I think). It's probably out-of-print, but I don't know that for sure and regardless you could probably pick it up used.

A fairly recent Dungeon magazine had an adventure called "The Harrowing" by Monte Cook. Likewise, another recent Dungeon magazine had a companion adventure (sort of an extended side trek) to City of the Spder Queen.

Basically an adventure for 15th-level types wherein the daughter (yes, daughter) of Lolth has been cooking up a scheme to distract her mother and take over. Trying not to post any more spoiler bits than need be. Actually it's well-written. And no, it has no relation to the WotSQ that's going on now.

On the other hand, it dovetails perfectly. In other words, the "plot" of the main villain in the adventure seems a lot more appropriate (and opportunistic) in the context of the WotSQ.

True, true. When my party plods through more converted 'Night Below' material to attain 15th level, I plan on bringing that into the mix. It's a good adventure, hopefully some of them will make it through.
