Okay, this topic it out of place, and I'm sorry. I didn't know where to put it. Has anyone heard of WoTC maybe thinking about doing a Drizzt movie? Look at LOTR, those are some of the best movies i've ever seen, just imagine what they could do with Drizzt.

There were plans for a series, but I believe these are long gone. Haven't heard anything about a movie yet.

In the future, if the topic FR but you aren't sure where, try the General Forum.

Technically, WotC does not have a film production division.

Secondly, there was a plan for a TV series but it fell apart.

Thirdly, compared to LOTR and Narnia (soon to be released this Winter/Christmas), Drizzt is not a widely recognized brand OUTSIDE of the D&D gaming community. They're not even widely read by children the way those Harry Potter books are (though I support children literacy).

But I gotta be honest with you, the only franchise/brand that would help boost D&D and WotC is ... Dragonlance.

Somewhere out there there's an Drizzt animé of some sort (at least of the Dark Elf series)

I hope they don't make one. It would rune my imaginations, just like with LOTR. But then again, LOTR turned out ok, so it might be ok...

I don't think it is something that will ever be made becuase I'm sure it'd be dreadful hehe. For one, they'd just get stupid most likely and either have a black person act the part or be even worse and have a white person in blackface or something equally stupid. It's incredibly difficult to portray a person, especially live-action, with obsidian black features. The best they could do would be to go with the dark grey like they do for a lot of art so the features will show up. But few movies have ever done elves well. Could you imagine looking at like Orlando Bloom in black face makeup? It would be odd to say the least. It could be done well as an anime though. I would actually watch it if that were the case. Cause you can draw the grey/obsidian skin tones much better than create them on real people. Anime is about the only thing they could probably budget too. LotR was a spectacular success because companies agreed to pour obscene ammounts of money into the project and take a chance. Nobody would come close to doing that for a series of DnD novels that most people have never heard of.

The only way Realms can compete Movie-Wise if they do Epicness in the right style. Realms is a highly magical world as we all know, while others are but not to it's creative-degree.

Again, you could do the Seven Sisters because 1) Females, 2) Badasses, 3) Carry large responsibility, 4) Hot, 5) Daughters of a Goddess

That would strike so many young girls and women it'd be unbelieveable. And, of course, the nerd who doesn't havea girlfriend ;) LOL. (No offense Dan).

They, or something like They, would be their best bet.
