No. The model for the D&D MMOG is Eberron.

If there is can you please direct me to see the information that is being displayed about it.

There are, however, persistant gameplay servers set in the Realms which use Neverwinter Nights as the engine.

The Vast (http://www.nwnthevast.com/) is one such server.

03-08-06, 09:04 AM Eberron was acquired and developed in great part for just this purpose: a world they could creatively shape from the beginning and license out -- and these licenses bring in, or at least are intended to bring in, more revenue than the Eberron RPG products -- free of the holdover legal restrictions in licensing the Realms.

Yep. As I mentioned in my post, there are quite a few persistant world gameplay servers which run NWN as the engine.

Personally, that is disappointing. I am not a big fan of Eberron.

I'm disappointed because I am an Eberron fan. MMOG's are not conducive to roleplay.

If you want to see the virtual Realms torn apart by d00d jargon or suffer through every 3rd player being a Drow Ranger with magical scimitars purchased via eBay, then pray for the FR MMOG.

03-08-06, 11:22 AM There's also an RTS called DragonShard. I haven't played, it but i heard that it's sorta decent.

03-08-06, 11:43 AM MMOG's are not conducive to roleplay.The reason for this isn't inherent to the medium, but to its financial model: the development cost of these things can only be met by appealing to as much as possible of a playerbase that (a) is in the main poorly virtually socialized, and (b) includes people after a range of different play experiences, only some of which include roleplaying.

The design and graphics of these games affect which of them acquire large initial player bases, but the biggest factor in the long-term experience is the other players, who are pretty much the same between the games.

As I've said before, who wants to see a Realms infested with MMORPG players?

Use Gamespy. But I suggest applying to ALFA (http://www.alandfaraway.org) memberhip first. Of all persistant worlds, they have covered the most parts of Faerun.

Second how and where do I find this ALFA to join it, and does it cost a fee to use. I do not know much when it comes to this stuff so every detailed help will be greatly appreciated.

-Oh, I agree. Who wants to see a Faerūn populated nearly 100% by Scimitar-wielding, benevolent Drow Rangers, who probably will be wanting to kill Elminster, The Simbul, and all sorts of other characters. Blech...

You'd have to have a flatrate, else the costs will ruin you. A highspeed connection is recommended.

I linked to the ALFA website in my previous post.
There is no fee, but you have to write a character background to applicate. If it is good, then you will recieve permission to play. If not, you're out of luck and have to try again.
