Ok, considering the plane-touched are native outsiders, they have some limitations as to what templates they can actually "acquire" (voluntarily or not). They can't become shades, but what about lythcanthropy or undead templates? Here's a scary thought. Can a shade become a vampire(remember shades are outsiders)? I'm just wondering if anyone has some info because lythcanthropy is a disease, and undead things just need you to be mortal, so can outsiders in their "distanced selves" still gain such templates. If anybody as the goods, let me know. Thanks.

A template generally states pretty clearly what creature types can aquire or inherit it. None of the undead templates, lycanthrope templates, or the shade template can be applied to any sort of outsider, native or otherwise.

This does pose some other problems for certain campaigns. Shades can't become liches, for example, in the same way that humans or elves can. DMs are free to tweak this sort of thing however they like, but as written, that's how the rules work.

Being outsiders severely limits it's eligibility(sp?) for templates. I tried to have a shadow-walker tiefling and was dismayed to find that it isn't possible. But apparently The FR rules that some outsider can become undead, because the Crypt-Spawn, the Juju Zombie, the Spectral Mage, and the Zin-Carla all allow outsiders for base creatures as long as they meet the other requirements. There may be more undead templates that allow it, but I haven't looked.

You have to look at the "Target type",

If the description reads "Any Huminoid", then the ancer is no.

Unless your DM decides to bend a few rules...
