Personally I'd much prefer more "fluff"- rumors, personas, and the like. I want to give my PC's interesting people to talk to.

Cool! Anyone else want to post what they want to see in the Player's Guide to Faerūn!

Detials on Monk orders and Paladin chapter houses for all the gods including the locations of monastrys and orders

Ditto on the call for expansion of the monk and paladin orders.

I like the idea of various rumors that could reach the pc's ears. I'm especially interested in rumors conerning politics and trade.

Good thread!

My favourite section of the FRCS was the daily life part. I would like to see more "fluff" about what adventurers are faced with, or deal with. More Culture. One thing I don'w want to see is any new elven subraces. Maybe a paragraph or two on how Drow P.C's are treated in various regions. Hopefully the stick to the format they used in the 3.0 version.

I agree. More fluff on playing pc's in Faurun..not more numbers to be crunched and disected on boards.

The PGF's content is already finalized, and now they are in the process of yanking stuff out because they've written too much.

So, it's all fun and good to make wish lists, but prepare to be disappointed... No one will listen to you.

Hey, no need to get rough! This is all just pure speculation and good fun converstation...;) :) :D

The 'epic faerun' section looks interesting -- official versions of all those netheril spells and new PrCs. So crunchy it's almost fluff.

I am, at this very moment, dispatching a teenaged Japanese girl in a schoolgirl uniform with a katana to visit you at your house. Don't talk, just die. :D
Seriously, though, I doubt we'll see too many new personalities (if any) in the FRPG. Rather, I'm sure it will be a look at what's changed ruleswise (including some updating of characters that have already been statted before in 3E), some new PrC's, feats, spells, and good long look at how epic spells and Netherese arcanists work in Faerun.

You can send a Japanese schoolgirl to my house anytime, but I'll bring the sword. ;) And don't worry, I won't want to "talk".

I hope there aren't any NPCs detailed. I can make that sutff up myself. If you put that in, then you have to leave out other, more useful stuff. Besides, any stats that you put in the book are just going to be debated to death on the boards (ie. "I thought Drizzt would be much higher level, dude!").

I would like to see more fluff content. More on the religions of Faerun. There could be more on organizations. There could be more spells. There could be more history. So many things!

1. Monk and Paladin orders.

2. 3.5 update on the mechanics of Spellfire, including a no save ray approach and a system for absorption of area effects (a la Elminster drawing in a hell wyrm's breath weapon), plus a negative consequence for those absorbing too much (some Int damage would be good, as too much power would fry the brain, perhaps also a temporary blindness...)

I think the best part of the new guide is the prestige class section detailing many PrCs of important deities that were lacking in FaP. From the ToC on another thread it looks to come close to completing many of the topics that other FR books lacked. Which I guess would be the purpose of it really. I'm looking forward to it.

Player's Guide to Faerūn! What do you want to see in it? I'm hoping for that the following characters will be fully stated using 3.5 Edition Rules:

Isn't it supposed to be a PLAYER'S guide, with the emphasis on setting the stage for them in broad strokes and not a compendium of NPC and novel character stats? All those stats and descriptions woul dtake up half the book, leaving little room for servicing the players.

Maybe this would be better off as a seperate book?
The Simbul

I want to see The Simbul's 10 (useless) Wizard levels dropped for 10 levels added to her Sorcerer class, so that "the most powerful mortal wielder of arcane magic in Faerun" can actually have a chance at winning a Dispel Magic/Overcome-Spell-Resistance/Caster-Level check against her contemporaries, enemies, and rivals.
:behold: :behold: :behold:

Obviously my concerns are far more narrow, trivial, and inconsqential than those of other gamers, but you did ask

But you have a point, nonetheless. The Simbul as written is ineffective in a straight-out spellbattle with multiple Red Wizards, or even one powerful opponent, and her spell selection is garbage.
I also would like to see her with 10 extra levels of sorcerer as well as the Empower Spell, Quicken Spell, Spell Knowledge, and Multispell feats under her belt. Also, a few epic spells created by her would be nice.
