| Drewcifer998401-07-08, 04:31 PM | I've been brainstorming for a few years now on a plot for my character Solaire (male wood elf Ranger13/Harper1/ShadowCursed3) and his class the DM and I have come up with called the "Shadow Cursed/Blessed" In game the reason was simple, it was something I thought up for my character having had a run of sudden bad luck ending in a lot of death. The reason I came up with was something to do with his body being unable to take the strain of dying and returning to life and so his body and soul suffered. But I've also been writing a manuscript of his journey from beginning to current plot. Here's what I came up with... A long time ago while he was scouting the forest he witnessed a large number of human soldiers planning on attacking a small elven settlement. While on the way back to relate what he found he was ambushed by a small human patrol group. Solaire fought and defeated all but one who severely injured him. He was narrowly saved by a dark cloaked woman who surprised and killed the bad man saving Solaires life and healing his injuries. Solaire slowly fell in love with the mysterious woman who was actually a cleric on a mission from her dark diety to find warriors to turn and use for his grand evil schemes. She however fell in love with him and became more reluctant to corrupt his soul and was torn with guilt. One night she fled without a word and without a trace. That is when we started the campaign. Dragon fights, damsel's saved, battles and wars are fought yada yada yada. Long story short, throughout the years of playing this character the mysterious woman did her evil deities work and poked in and out of the campaign secretly causing him pain and anguish. Trying to make him feel hate and to turn him evil. Eventually the mysterious woman under specific orders disguised herself as one of Solaire past enemies and fought him in battle to which it ended with her apologizing catching him off guard and then casting the shadow curse spell meant to complete his transition to evil. As he lay in extreme pain and through clenched eyes he sees the enemy before him fade into the mysterious woman he knew with a tear running down her cheek and turns to leave, then Solaire passes out. When he comes to with the aid of his companions his body is pale and covering with slight wisps of shadow that seem to leak from his every pore. After exhausting many resources spent to figure out what's wrong with him, he stubbornly leaves on his own in search of the mysterious woman who might have the answers. How does this sound? I'd like some feedback or suggestions |
