| prawn03-14-05, 11:08 AM | O posted this in the DM forum, but got little response, so I thought I'd post it here. Please help me with some ideas. In my FR Campaign, the party (all good aligned: F3, W3, D2, P3, C3) are shareholders in a Caravan that has gone from Sundabar to a bazaar near the desert ruins of the city of Ascore. They have secured an exclusive deal with a local Sheik on import of some desirable wool rugs to the Silver Marches. There are three groups there at the Bazaar, and I'd like to develop some role-play heavy intrigue between them and the party: The Bedine (the same as real-life bedouin, but they distrust magic) The Zhents (nasty slavers and traders from the other side of the desert) The Saimal (these are actually ploymorphed/shape changed lamias from the ruined city of Hlungadath) There is a wizards article about the Lamia seeking the spell Analyze Portal to unlock a portal they have discovered. There is also a map of the area on this page. http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/pg/20030604a I was thinking one of the other groups might have a scroll of Analyze Portal and is scared of the lamia will kill them for it, so they sell it to the the party. I don't want the party to have to battle the lamia, as they would be overmatched. Other ideas: maybe something went wrong with their exclusive deal with the Shiek? The Zhents are spoiled it somehow? I would appreciate any suggestions you have to help me out! Thanks! Preston |
