Hi,

Anyone here who's run the classic module in 3.5 (or played it)? If you have, what source material did you use? How did it go? How much did you adjust the difficulty level? Which adventures/encounters were particularly problematic? Which ones did your players enjoy the most? Did they die a lot?

I'm about to start such a campaign myself and would appreciate any input on how to run the game. The whole slum mission is omitted and Sokal Keep seems just a bit too intimidating without a few adjustments.

I'm not sure if we're talking about the same one here, but if your talking about the adventure that came with the Pool of Radiance: Ruins of Myth Drannor computer game then some things will have to be converted into 3.5. I honestly haven't run that campaign yet but it does seem rather interesting. Understand that your PC's aren't the main characters like in the book and/or video game but another adventuring party altogether who has different goals and quests. As for if your party will die, that some what depends on you and how you run the campaign. If you have the recommended number of PCs at the recommended level, then it should go smoothly. If you have more PC's, you might have to change some things, ie... a few more monsters of the same level, maybe a level or two higher boss than what the game has statted, that sorta thing. I'm sure you can somewhat adapt it so that your PC's are the main heros and that shouldn't be too hard. Hope that helps some.

I believe you can Google the words "Phlan map" (or something similar) in the Google Images and you'll some excellent maps and web site links for partial fan conversion of the PoR computer game back in the 80s.
