08-23-05, 04:18 PM		I'm starting a new campaign set in the Realms. The first mission is The Sunless Citadel and I'm having it set in Thesk. I didn't want to go with the standard Dalelands, Silver Marches, Cormyr settings.
Anyway, I was wondering if any one had any suggestions about what I could do to inject a little more Realms flavor into the mission? I'm going to have the temple in the main town be dedicated to Lathander instead of Pelor. Any other suggestions?

Here is how I did it last year: it was set in the same region, the old citadel used to be a Nar citadel. I made Ashardalon one of the Fiendish creatures worshipped by one petty Nar kingdom and have gone further to weave him into the Unnaproachable East history (e.g. Dydd, the Druidess who kicked his ass ages ago was an Half-Elf from the Yuirwood).

I also decided that the witches who founded the Wychlaran of Rashemen were partially responsible for the destruction of the Sunless Citadel (i.e. they were fighting to reduce all Nar influence in the region).

We haven't played this campaign since 6 or 7 months, but we had much fun. The Sunless Citadel was in the Firwards Mountains and Khurkundar was in the Thesk mountain. I organised a small side adventure (the ghosts of Aniel, free download from this website) in the Yuirwood and we were about to go for the Standing Stones adventure...

I was planning on somehow linking Ashardalon with Eltab. Something like Eltab had organised the "demonic heart" for the Red Dragon and therefore Ashardalon owes him. But, like I said, this campaing is on hyatus.
