Psionic suggestion, would he know? [Archive] - Wizards Community

This happened in a game I’ve recently been playing in and I was unsure of how to proceed…My psion had a mind link open with another persons character in the game and then I used the psionic suggestion power on his character. The display is auditory but since I had the mind link open with him I would be able to get the suggestion across telepathically. After he comes out of the suggestion either by completing it or time runs out or I stop the power would that character know that I had used a power on him? If he passed his save would he know I used the power on him? Would others around know? I’m making the character someone who changes his environment to suit his needs so subtlety is a must. If anyone knows the answer or has any suggestions feel free to let me know. Thanks.

This should probably be posted over on the Rules forum.

Still, if it was magic then (from the SRD) "A creature that successfully saves against a spell that has no obvious physical effects feels a hostile force or a tingle, but cannot deduce the exact nature of the attack" would apply.

And Suggestion, Psionic does say "works just like the magic Suggestion" from what I remember. Just a thought :)

If he fails the save he doesn't know the power was used, if he makes it then he know someone tried to do something to him.

A simple Concentration check DC 15 + Power level will nullify the display you know...

After the power wears off he'll certainly remember what he did and might think it was peculiar. He won't know for sure unless he questions anyone involved with his actions.
