| Gallameed09-10-04, 12:02 PM | I often like to make Realms versions of movie, novel and comic book hero/villians and drop them into my games. Recently I had the realms version of a certain group of marvel superheroes turn up to lend my players a hand, I called them the "Xcelsior Fellowship". ;) :D I once had a villian in my long running campaign called "Torlec Blaehin" who became known as "The Flayer", the players had to investgate a series of gory attacks upon people in Luskan and after a wild goose chase around town looking for what they guessed was a werewolf, they ended up having to out-wit the local healer, who was actually a murderous flesheating genius and a respected member of the town! Yup, my version of Dr Lector had been framing a local (selune following) werewolf for the murders! So has anyone put any of their film/tv/comic/novel/videogame favorites in the Realms? Have you had a Ravensbluff version of Batman flying around, maybe something like "the Predator" stalks the Highforest, or perhaps in Westgate a brash young girl has discovered she is the chosen agent of Kelemvors "watchers guild" and must protect people from vampires. Should a young planetouched psion take up wise Chaney Xaviers offer and go to his "College for the Gifted" outside of Waterdeep? Can a speedy rogue hope to escape from that half-golem law enforcer of the flaming fists? Ive heard he only eats baby food so he cant be that tough... And how come the Zhentarim are after this strange little metal puzzlebox cube-thing that I bought from an insane gnomish merchant in skullport? |

| Arcen09-10-04, 09:17 PM | I played an Aliens vs. Predator adventure a few years back where the pcs got stranded on an island where the inhabitants (predators) preformed rites of passage by traveling to a nearby island to hunt the creatures that lived there (Aliens) |

Its in the Underdark, and uses the Kython's from the Book of Vile Darkness. If I were going to do a Predator type campaign or have a simular story in the realms then I would make the Predator a visiting Githyanki head hunter "In town with a few days to kill!" Could be fun! :) |
| dragonheart09-11-04, 11:46 PM | I played in a game years ago where we stepped through a portal and found ourselves turned into toons and having to adventure wiht the rest of the loney tunes crew - and try to figure out their real alignments from their actions - imagine having to help wiley coyote catch the roadrunner running from granny and her +10 umbrella some of our favorite toons are really EVIL :D |
| ArnimThayer09-12-04, 01:43 AM | In my long running FR campaign, I inserted various X-Men and Avengers, inspired by the Kulan Gath storyline in Uncanny X-Men (I think it was around 1985 - Issues 190 & 191). Thanks to 3rd Edition, most of these characters have actual statistics consistant with normal gameplay. "Patch Logan" is a Barbarian 4/Ranger 2/Rogue 4/Berserker 8 with the Wolverine as a totem animal. Kurtis NightSpawn is a half drow/half fiend Rogue4/Swashbuckler 7/Duelist 3 who can teleport at will. Iron Knight is a Fighter 12 in mystical full-plate with the abilities to cast searing light from his gauntlets and fly as an 18th level caster. Stephen Rogers is a Paladin 5/KnightProtector 6/Purple Dragon Knight 5 with a +5 throwing, returning, defending shield. At first my players gave me a lot of hell about the concept, but gradually they warmed up to it. It gave them familiar NPCs to interact with, other then the standard munchkins. And it added a unique flavor to my FR games. |
| Arcen09-12-04, 08:21 PM | It would be interesting to introduce Freddy Krueger to the Realms. He could be a killer who sells his soul for power but is burned to death before he can complete the ritual. Trapped in the Realm of Dreams he must get revenge on the PCs through their nightmares! You could set this up as a couple of adventures: The first being the PCs racing against time trying to stop the killer from getting to anymore village children. The second being him coming back for revenge. |
