10-09-06, 04:38 AM Pwent is probably a very high level barbarian/fighter/battlerager coz in nearly all battles he's been in he's sustained incredibly heavy damage and still come out raging, his spiked armour and gauntlets are probably keen as well.

10-09-06, 02:44 PM In one of the Drizzt novels, it says that he's not as good a fighter as Bruenor who's 13th level, so 15th level is more than a little over the top.

They were never givin full stats, but there is a mention in the silver marches book, which was out before the battlerager PrC was printed and has them as mostly barbarians.

Close but I would have said Less Fighter and more Barbarian, more like

Ftr2/Bar8/Battlerager5

And I don't think his armour was mithral but I could be wrong.

10-10-06, 12:01 PM I kinda figured his armor would be adamantine, giving him some DR. Though him being a 15th character is a bit much. I'd put him somewhere around 10 to 12th level at best. C'mon, Wulfgar and Cattie-brie are only level 8.

So? What do their levels have to do with Pwent's?

10-10-06, 03:25 PM I just posted stats from what I remember reading. I only gave four levels of ftr to get the perks(weapon spec) I know 15th level may seem like much. I don't really care for ionic npc stats because they are disputed by every one. I said Bruenor's stats are bunk, that doesn't mean I am gonna argue that he needs to be higher level. Davidw I enjoy R.A.'s books. I gave stats because someone asked for an opinion. Lets play nice and keep smart remarks to ourselves. I enjoy posting here, I enjoy the realms,and I enjoy the products released.To often here there are snide remarks or useless arguments and poor attitudes. So lets stay on topic;)

10-10-06, 04:42 PM I'd say that Pwent should be around 11th-13th level, myself.

He seems to have displayed, at one point or another, all of the characteristics of the Battlerager class , and I think he should definitely have all 5 levels. And to be a Battlerager, you have to have a base attack of +5 or better, thus at least 5 levels of a "fighter orientated" class (fighter, barbarian, etc), along with the 3 manditory feats (Cleave, Endurance, Powerattack) and the rage ability.

Here's my personal opinion of his level breakdown: barbarian 7/battlerager 5. He shows a lot of the barbarian-type abilities and attitudes, and I think that 12th level is a good "veteran" level. Also, it was said in one of the books ('Siege of Darkness', I think) that Pwent could out-fight almost any dwarf in Mithral Hall, with the notable exception being Bruenor, and even THAT would be a fight worth seeing. And since the 8th and 10th King is (by his stats in the Silver Marches, at least) 13th level, it seems appropriate that Pwent is just a bit lower.

As for Bruenor, for me he's still a 13 level fighter BUT I've given him 2 levels also in Exotic Weapon's Master (I ditched the idea that he uses a greataxe, and instead think he should use a Dwarven waraxe). Hell, if you look at the requirments for the Exotic Weapon's Master prestige class, you'll note that Bruenor already HAS all of the requisites EXCEPT that you would have to change the Weapon Focus from "greataxe" to "Dwarven waraxe"...not so hard or illogical a thing, I think. That's just me, of course, but I think that it fits him.

Just using them as comparison, tis all. If mighty Wulfgar and Cattie-Brie are only lvl 8's then I think it somewhat hard to think of Pwent as level 15.
