Ramius_Mordale 02-21-04, 07:53 AM	Good day ladies and gents I am proud to say this is my first post on the boards and I have a question. Is there going to be an advancement in FRs timeline in say a published format that would let people like me, who don't read the FR novels (mainly cause the resource books for D&D alone soak up most of my money) get a timeline update of say 2 to 3 years every year. Yes I'm an experienced player and I have dmed before and yes I'm impatient but others in my group are also curious if such material would be published. After all 2nd edition came out with material for the realms that advanced it a fair amount of years. Fair I mean greatly advanced the calender. Now I'm not asking for a hundred year leap just 2 or 3 years advancement every year or so. Maybe we are just impatient, or do any of you feel the same way?
Cunning Linguist 02-21-04, 07:58 AM	Nope, 1 year in the realms if 2-3 years normal time, so you will not be getting 2-3 years per year. But you can get the updates from all the FR stuff thats comming out. The new Players Guide to Faerun will update everyone with the current happenings in the realms.

Entaru 02-22-04, 02:45 PM	Thank you for the response Kuje. As an off-topic question. Can someone give me a small summary of 3.5 vs. 3.0? It can be in a PM if you wish. Its a bit of a newb question, but I didn't expect them to change PHB and DMG info within 2 years of purchasing the books. Also, anyone in the Saint Paul area want a veteran at 24 who's played for 13 years? Off and on anyways. -Geijon
Ramius_Mordale 02-23-04, 01:27 AM	Well thanks for the information guys. That helps me a bit and I'm glad to hear that the Player's Handbook to FR will have a year update. Plus giving a quick summary is on 3.5 vs 3.0 is that classes, some feats and skills were adjusted to make the game run more smoothly. In addition they improved on world building and adventure ideas in the DMG 3.5. Also a good portion of their prestige classes were revised. In the PHB 3.5 they adjusted some racial ablities for the the main races besides humans. I'm not going to lie it was a bit shocking at first but after you read through the books its actually twice as better then 3.0. Just my few cents worth, but I would recommend upgrading to 3.5.
Entaru 02-23-04, 06:28 AM	I just purchased the Dragon Lance Time of Mortals CS book, which should be 3.5 I assume. I'll look into the PHB and GMG. My thanks for the good words of advice.
Alac Luin 02-23-04, 07:22 PM	On wizards DnD main site there is a link on the bottom right hand corner where you can download the 3.0 to 3.5 update booklets. this can give you an overview of the changes, and for the MM2 and the FF it gives all needed updates to bring those books up to speed.
