| the_move03-23-04, 02:50 PM | Well I am playing a cleric of Tyr, having War and Knowledge as Domains. I found a specific feature called "Initiative of Tyr" in the "Players guide of Faerun". He has the ability to cast the sword and hammer spell. This has certain abilities, which I am not familiar with, since I am German, having a German rulebook, but this book is in English. So I have 3 questions about this spell: 1. It summons sword and hammer of force and . What does "of force" mean? What does a weapon of force do? 2. What is "automatically flanking opponents"? What does flanking do? 3. Can the 2 summoned weapons attack seperate targets or do they have to attack the same target? Thank you very much! |
| Mirtek03-23-04, 03:02 PM | First of all a general tip: Just forget about the German rulebooks. Sorry, but Amigo is just way too slow with them? How much are they currently behind the english releases? 2 years? AFAIK even a little more than 2 years. Not wanting to talk about the reason behind this huge delay, doesn't matter if it's the fault of Amigo Spiele or not, the situation for the customer is just unbearable. Get the english rulebooks or are you still naive enough to hope you will see the complete German 3.5e Core Rules any sooner than christmas? It would be a surprise if they do truly release the German PHB and DMG this spring like they told (well, actually the said these books would already be released by now) Originally posted by the_move 1. It's the same as the damage of a magic missle (hope this helps) Originally posted by the_move 2. What is "automatically flanking opponents"? What does flanking do? Flanking = "In die Zange nehmen" |

A warhammer and longsword doing only 1d4 damage only is a bit low. So what is the total damage of these weapons? |
| The Eye of the Cyclop03-23-04, 03:14 PM | all the 3.5 book are now translated in french since about 6 month |

So what is the total damage of these weapons? Well, maybe I was to confusing: They do not do magic missle damage, the damage they do is considered the same type of damage than from the magic missle spell. A magic missle does "force damage" as it's damage typ. Look how they translated the damage typ of magic missle in the German PHB and you know what "force" means in German Originally posted by The Eye of the Cyclop all the 3.5 book are now translated in french since about 6 month AFAIK also in Italian. But with German translations? The newest release was the FRCS, War of the Spider Queen is supposed to come withing the next weeks. They just finally translated the last class book in Fall 2003. So far there are Core Rules (3.0); Class Books (3.0), Monsters of Faerun, FRCS and some adventures in German With the current rate I don't expect a German Lords of Darkness this year. I only believe that the German 3.5e Core Rules will be released this year after I have seen the last one hit the shelves (and after that it get's really ugly when the start to release the missing 3.0e FR supplements when everyone is already playing 3.5e rules) |

Some monsters are immune to different types of energy thats why the Energy type is listed. 2. Flanking means you are behind you enemy it gives you a +2 to hit. |
| Mirtek03-23-04, 07:54 PM | Originally posted by DreadStar 2. Flanking means you are behind you enemy it gives you a +2 to hit. Actually this answer is wrong. No facing in D&D 3e/3.5e All combatants are supposed to move/threatend/dodge/switch/trun constandly in combat. No one has a "front" or a "back" in the combat system Flanking is when you and an ally are on directly opposite sides of your enemy There's no front, back, left, right. You simply have to be on one side and your ally on the other. No one of you is at the enemies back and no one at his front, your enemy is considered to turn/switch between both of you equally. Since this is hard to do for him, you get a bonus. But no one is actually behind his back |

But those weapons can not flank someone, who can not be flanked, can they (Roque, Barbarian, Monk)? |
| FineasBoggs03-24-04, 01:18 AM | 1. Well the weapons are made up of a magical force energy. As per spiritual weapon, they both do 1d8 of damage. 2 and 3. You can direct the two weapons to attack the same opponant or different opponants. If they attack the same, they flank him, granting an additional +2 to attack as per rules for flanking. http://webpages.charter.net/acamphuysen/manshoon_mage_sigil.gif |
